I've got a very decent vault too:

    greenflag.pngicon_redhulk.png
    purpleflag.pngicon_deadpool.png
    yellowflag.pngicon_miles.png

..but unfortunately I've got 5 covers already for those Rulk and Xpool colors. And I just maxed my champed 2* storm this week, so all those covers are bare min of 250 iso8.png each . A month ago I would have killed for this vault. Oh well, maybe I'll get the LT or Miles, but I won't be spending HP on it.
  • I'm quite confused about the placement I'm getting so far. I started like 15minutes after the start of the event and since i have only 2 of the required characters i expected to be in the top 200 as it usually happens when this is the case. Not even close since I'm on the top 400, if so. My confusion even grew when i noticed that the top 10 have around 6k points, easily double than me even though the first 8 hours haven't passed yet. How is that possible if the amount of given points decrease after each match?
Don't know if I'm losing some strategy here icon_e_sad.gif
The first one even has over 8k!

Early grinders. They probably just hit the nodes whenever they have spare time to get node rewards and don't worry about placement. They'll likely fall behind during the final grind. Follow your usual routine and then see where you end up when the first sub Closes.

The two X-forces and the new and improved Iron Man make a fun grinding team here. One Recharge leaves you one red match short of an Out Of Bullets for 14000 damage. Only problem is I tend to use Recharge even when I should use Recovery...

Im40 with torch is clearing quite well too. Fuelling torch's green with im40 yellow does some pretty absurd damage.

I'm enjoying im40 with cstorm and xpool (might use rags some to for xpool, but that leaves purple and black both). after so...much...apathy, he's getting lots of love now icon_e_biggrin.gif

Clearing out these subs with OML, boosted champ HT and boosted champ IM40 is easy peasy lemon squeezy.

im40 with nearly anyone has been great - I haven't even touched winfinite and I'm running t10. lucking into a lazy bracket I think.

IM40/Iceman might be the most ridiculously overpowered pair ever
  • Not necessarily the fastest combo, but I'm enjoying XForce and Xpool, throw out countdown for whats then surgical strike them all out.

Well, some of those 250+ lvls nodes in Columbia sub with Hood/Doom have started to knock my IM40 out of rotation. Hood just keeps stealing yellow unless I get a lucky cascade and it takes forever to pull off the xforce twin purple/black combo due to the stealing as well. Making it harder is when you do get Hood down, Doom casts Technopathic Strike to immediately change the blue (his strongest color) into black, nerfing the Xforce combo for at least a few turns.

Put back Jean Grey into use with the twins, especially for that one Hood/Doom/Goon node (with a Maggia Pawn TU) for better (though health costly) results.

Of course, I'm making this worse on myself by grinding on the CP nodes during the day, so I've only got myself to blame for the scaling (and the beatings) icon_e_smile.gif

I told myself I'd take this PvE easy, maybe play till 31500 for the Vision cover. I even skipped a few clears, which would have gotten me like 5000 points

As it is, I'm on 50k with 2d12h to go. Which means the 25CP at 80k is very achievable. So i guess I'm gonna grind this out after all.

Why do i keep doing this to myself

I do that EVERY 7 day PVE these days. Swear I'm going to take it easy and just mine the CP nodes. But then you look at those 1000 iso rewards for being top 100 in each sub (and god I need iso).... and you get halfway and see you're more than halfway to the 25 cp's... Even when you get to the progression reward at the start of the final day, you think you'll take it easy, but then ...if I get top 50, then I get three easy covers to champ one of my 3* stars....

    It never ends.

I needed to refill my HP stash a bit, so I have been aiming for top 50 most subs. Fortunately it's not that difficult.

I had taken the heroic off and finished in the 400s or 500s (just grabbed cp from the 4* nodes). so I'm in an easier bracket I think. running t10s easily.

have to say I hate...HATE...hood in pve (more than jugs, ares, and daken). have to decide if I want to keep t10 or take this sub more casual (probably drop from t10). don't need that px yellow, but could use the purple at t5, which might be within reach - we'll see.

5*s with 2 color damage boosts can make short work of Hood, letting you get on with taking down the rest of the opposition with AP.

I don't know. I think people just aren't playing this event. I did quite well in the last Heroic (false modesty: I came in first), and I'm having to work to stay out of the top 10 in this one. I'm not chasing more Professor X covers, since I'm not going to raise his level any time soon (because the One True Combo is more important to me), and have no desire to take covers from someone who needs them. I'm just playing for node rewards.

First two subs, I ignored anything worth less than 100 iso: Top 10. Next sub I over-cleared every node twice as soon as the sub opened: still top 10. For the 4th sub I tried a new approach; I skipped an entire clear, and over cleared the hardest node for every desired reward as soon as the sub opened: still top 10. Never seen anything like it.

at 255? might try that but I'm guessing you mean one's with more levels. will have to remember that when I have one worth the iso.

Juggernaut is too overpowered in the final fight. Can't beat that...

its not juggs, its the combo of jugs and hood. hope I get the cp out without too much trouble. i'll happily walk away from the 500 and 250 iso on that one. I bet it takes at least 5/7 to get it though - usually does.

Did it 2 times but yeah, no luck with the CP.
