I've had ISO in reserve because my best characters have been capped. I've slowly built up my 2* team but the rate at which I was getting Thor covers was slower than the rate at which I was earning ISO so I have a reserve. I spent some of it on Doom because he looks fun, and a chunk on Venom in preparation for the 1* tourney

My best 3* character is capped at L53, so it'll be a while before my 2* -> 3* transition actually happens. Back to building up a reserve!

A good place to get isonis in the simulator. You can play to get +30 iso from fights... PvP events are good as well.
  • I'm interested in joining when you have an opening. Thank you.
  • one question guys. do u ever use iso to buy boost for a fight?

Only when there is a chance of losing, like when fighting against particular high leveled characters.
A high level C.Magneto can destroy you if you arent quick enough and let him get purple so i may use a boost to kill him first.
"Must kill first" enemies: high level C.Magneto, Juggernaut or Ares.

LRounds. If u get in at the beginning and fight the bots, thats quite some iso at the end of the day.

Yes, but rarely. I try to use boosts only at the end of events if I think I can reach a better prize or if I need to win quickly to defend a high prize position (like PVP top 5). So usually I have many boosts saved up since I don't use them in typical situations. But if I run out and it's crunch time, I will buy some with iso. Never with HP, that's just not worth it.

I've been trying to wean myself off of them (I use to pop them like candy when they were cheap). Usually when the PVE starts getting all lvl230 and I need to get a head start.

I am not too concerned. This is a casual fun alliance. I'd like to finish top 20 in the Alliance Rankings, but really who cares? This is a free to play puzzle game. Is it addicting? Yes. Should we transition into a hardcore alliance? My vote is no. Maybe some day we will crack the top 15 in an event. To crack the top 10 and get forum recognition would require some serious playtime from all of our members. That being said, I think we should do some kind of alliance thread roster progression. Maybe weekly? Or it could be up to the commander(s) to keep tabs on all members rosters. This would require more than a little effort and note keeping. Ideally it would be great to have all members who play a few hours over two or so days.

Yeah, I couldn't see the transition to a hardcore alliance. We might have time now, but there's always going to different commitments, like family, work, an illness, lost/broken device, a school play for you kid. Maybe some alliance member couldn't participate this time and next event you won't have time. Whatever. Eventually, some of our members might outgrow us and free agent themselves away (sniff, sniff, we'll miss you!), and when that happens, we'll be happy for them and thankful for the contributions when they were part of the alliance.

Until D3 gives us a way to see individual contributions, I'll just do a quick roster snapshot and compare it after a week or so. If there is no change whatsoever in the roster or the levels, perhaps that means the player went inactive. I'm definitely NOT trying to kick anyone out (don't sweat it M3saia). I'm trying to find a way to let other players who are into the CareBearStare philosophy into our alliance!

Or D3 can monetize and let us increase our alliances to 30.

And if/when D3 DOES give a way for alliances to see individual contribution, there's going to be a CRAZY uproar in the forums as people are kicked out and ranked and it's going to be nuts. Grab some popcorn when it happens, it going to be quite a show.

I think that is important to remember, and respect. I think we should strive to let you know if we plan to be inactive for a bit (out of town, crazy at work/school, etc) so you know what to expect, but I'd prefer that we stay pretty relaxed about life happening to us.

Of course this is tricky in the case of people who are not active on the forum, because you have no way to contact them… I don't have any good ideas for that.

A little notice would be a great courtesy.

And remember all, this is only the second alliance event. I'm sure these wrinkles will get ironed out by the next one. Or the fifth one. Or the tenth one.
  • Yay! Made it to the first DareDevil cover. If between No Holds Barred and this event I manage to get a blue cover from somewhere, he'll be my first 3* with full covers.

Sadly, that doesn't fix the fact that he's useless and I'm not levelling him any time soon. icon_rolleyes.gif

Good gravy man! I got #1 in the Hard sub, but it diverted my attention away from the Easy. I think I was top 10 there though. #7 in the main for now.

Got a red and a black psyduck from the tokens (and a bunch of bullseyes and hawkeyes), making her 4/2/2.

I took number one in both subs. Got x2 Bullseye, x2 Wolverine, Modern Hawkeye, and a yellow Hood. icon_rolleyes.gif Grats on the Psylocke covers. I would kill for some more! Oh, and a Bagman from a Heroic Daily Rewards token to throw salt in an open wound. Grrrrr.
  • Not entirely sure where I ended up, but placed around 15 in each. I had to do non-marvel things today (lame, right?) so I only got to play the last couple hours. Good work on the wins, fellas!

I gotta admit that the alliance was a big motivating factor to rank high. In the past, I probably just let the ranking slide to wherever when I got bored of grinding.

Great job to everyone who was able to contribute. I think the concept of the alliances made for some extra fun and I hope everyone felt like they could work hard and not feel like they had to get themselves too crazy. Keep up the Stare!
