Here's a radical idea that would have hilarious consequences that couldn't be worse than what we currently have.

The #1 thing the MPQ community craves is communication from the devs. So put a couple of us under contract as volunteers, give us a nifty red moderator name, and then set up email notifications on your code repository so that we can see everything that goes in. You can even send it to your manager first and (s)he can filter the list that gets forwarded on to us (it gives that manager something to do while sitting in ridiculous meetings). Give the moderator guidelines in his contract about what can be shared and how often and boom - perfect communication with a little bit of opaqueness in the form of a manager filter.

I would do that job completely voluntarily in a heartbeat.
