Deadpool Daily Quest - Randomized Matchup Thread

As I mentioned in the Round 73 DDQ thread, I will be stopping the separate DDQ threads for every round. If you need any information on matchups and whatnot, SnowcaTT's excellent thread is the place to go: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=26817

That being said, rainkingucd suggested rebuilding the calendar, so I figured I'd at least compile a list of potential matchups in its own separate thread. While it won't be useful for predicting specific matchups like we could previously, it will at least provide a list of possible matchups you could encounter.

I am guessing (based on both what we've seen in the first round of the new DDQ format as well as what would be easier for game balance) that there is a master list of nodes from which each day's matchups are selected rather than having each opposing character individually chosen for each slot. The fact that related goon opponents (hand ninjas, H.A.M.M.E.R. units, etc) are paired up together reinforces this. Also, we have had a large number of repeated nodes from the previous DDQ cycles considering that we have only had five days of the new system (I've noted the previously used nodes below), so I suspect that the total list of available opponents for nodes isn't excessively big. Put this all together and we should probably be able to compile a list of possible nodes.

Several of the Ultron goon nodes appeared to be repeated from the Ultron event, so one possibility is that many nodes (especially wave nodes) are largely taken from previous PVE's & DDQs. This is pure guesswork, but it makes sense.

Anyway, please feel free to provide the lists of daily DDQ matchups here and I'll try and compile them.

To date, the matchups we've seen are as follows (thanks to all who posted the nodes in various threads, but in particular thanks to rainkingucd, DrStrange-616, BlackBoltRocks, and Moon Roach from the Round 73 thread, as I used their work for this):

Different TBE matchup for 18 Feb 2016

Wave 1: Sentry Fighter, Ultron Prime, Sentry (either Gunner or Flyer)
Wave 2: Carnage goons (forgot which ones specifically. I remember there was a Guard Dog)
    Wave 3: Beast, two goons
    Wave 4: Beast, 3* Torch, IM40

Barely survived this wave with 3* Cyclops, Scarlet, Fist

Apologies for not remembering the exact opponents; i was too busy worrying about keeping Cyclops and Scarlet alive

I always doing BE with following team: Cyclop/OBW/2*Wolverine. Before I transitioned to 3* i was using Thor instead of Cyclop. This team only fails if the first wave dont have pink/blue tiles to start rolling. After DDQ change - nothing changed for me. Well only first wave become a little harder.

Cyclop - serve as big hitter
OBW - serve as sustain (cooldowns/steal/heal)
Wolverine - serve as buff provider for OBW (green strike tiles)
  • The fact that Beast appeared in two rounds today, and we had Ultron goons twice in a row yesterday suggests they are completely random to me, and won't be repeating matchups further down the line.

    Today's Under the Sea
    Wave 1: Grenadier (20), Commander (28), Sniper (22), Spy (25)
    Wave 2: Hitman (40), Quicksilver (50), Hitman (42), Thug (46)

Fairly confident that these are almost entirely random, with minor exceptions- example, Ultron appearing along side his goons today seems likely to be intentional.

Maybe the randomness is not the individual enemies in a wave, but the entire wave, like, we have a couple Ultron teams we could pick from, a couple Beast teams we could pick from, etc.

Not sure if this is where I should post this, but with my roster (should be in my signature), how do I beat today's TBE waves? Ultron Prime, symbiote goons, 2 more waves I didn't even see because I died so fast. I've been using my championed Thor 2*/Mags 2*/Storm 2* but got wiped on wave 2. Should I use a different team? I would love that Falcon cover! And I'll try again tomorrow for the next TBE 3* cover and hopefully it randomly makes it easier. icon_e_sad.gif

    That's my guess, too.

I updated as much as I could for today, but I don't have 3* Sam Wilson and couldn't do the BE. If anyone else gets it, let me know.

I've been using Steve Rogers, 3* Iron Man & Kamala Khan. You're KK is a little under-covered, but once you get IM40 to get Steve rolling, it's a pretty sustainable team over the four waves. On days with a lot of countdown tiles, 2* Steve can work, but generally board control is a little less important than denying the AI's board movers a chance to do anything, so you're probably fine with your 3* Steve until you get the last red cover.

    Good luck.

I did it! Thank you, ZootSax! It took forever, but I got that Falcon cover. Hopefully the nodes will start easing up, but at least I know I can beat that insanity.

Congrats. With the random format they have now, you should have a good number of easy days. ...they'll just be less memorable than the brutal ones icon_e_smile.gif

The Big Enchilada for 19 Feb 2016:

Wave 1: Decoy*, 2* Wolverine, Decoy*
Wave 2: Sentry Gunner, Sentry Flyer, Sentry Gunner
Wave 3: Sentry Gunner, Sentry Fighter, Sentry Gunner
    Wave 4: Empiricist, Psylocke, Empiricist

*forgot whether it was Decoy or Coordinator, since both resemble Dr Doom

EDIT: oops my bad. Just remembered Under the Sea has one mover (Vision) in the second wave

Thanks again, BlackBoltRocks. I updated through today as best I could. There's been a surprising number of repeats, so far--including another Bagman + 2x Mutations in the 1* node today.
  • Thanks for ruining the big enchilada for the ones who aren't rich enough to pay for ur overpriced covers. Finally get enough cards to actually complete it, and now u make the missions too hard for lower level players.

I'd add that the last wave of 2*s are all championed to 132 or 131.
  • This is 3 or 4 straight days where its almost impossible to make win these.
  • Opponents for 21 Feb 2016! Today's TBE is ridiculous

I totally agree all you can get is frustration especially if you play this game not for a very long time and have not great maxed out 2* Chars.
    That really really sux!!!

22 Feb 2016! Btw i hate you Luke Cage

Only one mover in Under the Sea, Daredevil in Wave 1

    The Big Enchilada
Wave 1: Carnage symbiotes! Horror, Mutation, Carrier
Wave 2: Holy smokes. Teisatsu, Muscle, Teisatsu
Wave 3: More symbiotes! Carrier, Demolisher, Mutation
Wave 4: Ragnarok, Beast, Falcon. I mean, seriously?

My go to team lately is BE ***, DocOck, IM40. Worked very well today!

Thanks again for posting TBE BlackBoltRocks. Cap/IM40/KK carried the day for me, but I had the advantage of reading this before I started and didn't go in blind.

...it also seems very strange that we've had 2* Cap & two spies for three days running in the 1* node. Maybe they have a significantly smaller pool of matchups to randomly choose from to keep the difficulty down for newer players?

Todays may have actually been too easy on TBE.. granted i use a big team to do it quicly, but SW died on a first turn cascade, so nothing but goons until the end, which rulk 1 shot.. took less than 5 minutes.
