It's not a warpath, it's actual PvP and not handholding.

Im actually really curious who kdn is talkin about.hope its the cupcake brigade:)the sooner we get mpq back to proper pvp the better, not this silly hand holding we have now where some1 with a barely developed 3*roster can hit 2k+whenever they have hit the hp jackpot in dpd

and "proper PVP" is... what? Playing by your own fabricated rules rather than their own fabricated rules which all fall within the programming confines of PVP?

I'm not understanding the problem. Granted I don't push to 1K, I'm content with 800+, I skip people I recognize on the forum, I skip my own alliance, and I skip friendly alliances. I enjoy PVP, climb late, shield at 800+ and move on to PVE. Who am I to say that people playing different than me are wrong? If I had all 5* roster and I felt a desire to stop people from climbing over 800 because I don't want them to... would that be right?

I'm not personally attacking anybody here, but I truly want to understand the mindset that comes up with an idea of enforcing a playstyle upon other just because they can.

Now if someone formed a squad to take out PVP bullies, people who float just to hit people that they don't like, or hit people that accidentally hit the wrong egomaniac, or that target bracket leaders just to bring them down because of a vendetta... an Anti-bully squad, I could stand behind... even though those players are allowed their own playstyle based on the design of the game. Morally, I agree with an anti-bully squad.

Targeting people because you personally don't think they deserve 2K because you don't think their roster is strong enough... well that's just arrogant. This is me speaking personally. I'm not challenging anybody, I'm using this forum for what it is meant for... for discussion.

I've heard good things about KDN, so I don't believe his intentions to be hostile and so I'm not worried as I'm not a threat to anybody.

Personally, I would love to be able to play PVP without having to shield check, without being worried about who I'm hitting. But unfortunately being in an alliance means being responsible and accountable to a group of other people. To gain the benefits of being with a group, you have to give up some freedoms of being an individual. But it would be fun to just hit a target that is high points that you know you can beat... without caring who it is.

There are entire alliances that do this, including mine.

And I think KDN wants to put a stop to all this "etiquette" that has people feeling entitled that they deserve things. PvP is player versus player, not hold hands so no one gets hit and has their feelings hurt.

You could have just stopped at"i aim for 800,i dont understand what the problem is".And ppl with barely developed rosters shouldnt be able to hit 2k.not so easily anyway where u can do a 4+fight hop and not worry about getting hit.The pull of pvp (for me anyway)is how fast u can hit as many ppl as you can either climbing to shield or mid hop.its all about the risk and unless you have a really fast buffed team for that week you shouldnt be able to hit it.its like playing the game on easy mode and all depends on how much hp you are willing to spend per event.

Not arguing playstyles. But I do find it funny when folks say it's "player vs player". Because it's not.

Chess or checkers is player vs player. You take a turn, I take a turn, then you take a turn, then it's my turn again. And true strategic skills come into play.

Call of duty is player vs player. Players can shoot each other and are in the same match together.

MPQ is player vs computer. The computer who never maximizes moves, ignores obvious match 5's, mis-fires abilities, etc...

And quite frankly, most see the game as player vs the developers. Most are playing against their system, not against anyone one person individually.

Just sharing a perspective. Happy match mpq all.

Oh so many thoughts in this thread!
Let me clarify this since plenty of lovely people pm me in the past few days with curiosity ... such as
"Are you on warpath?", "Who is the target?", "Are you turning to full dark side?", "Can I join please~I wanna snipe all"

    1. As many know, I am a part of Crewsaders and I love my alliance. 19 great, lovely and kind people in Crews *Except me that's pretty **** lol.
Due to my real life schedule, I don't really get to play with them in the same shard. Plus, I like to move around to meet new people. "Meet" here means to fight and to get to know them so I would avoid them in the future if we get to know each others by any kind of communications. (I'm not a sniper).

    2. People think I'm recruiting because I want to form the most powerful alliance by gathering all powerful players to wreck any shard we are going to, that is "Wrong". It's not my intention but I just want to have fun for "A Season" with my other friends outside of the Crewsaders.

    3. Many bad **** snipers contacted me to join and I'm neither saying Yes or No, but I have to look deeper into other members that are looking to join as well because everyone has friends and foes that might or might not be able to play with each other. So that will take time to see.

    4. I noticed that many nice players out there are pretty concern to this recruitment that this may harm their peace. If people know me enough, they know that I'm peaceful and negotiable. So let's drop this intense atmosphere.

    5. I do have targets, yes. After all I am human. MPQ is a big community, plenty of different types of people. Some I love, some I like, some I hate. Only few that showed their intention toward my being in a very "unpleasant" way which made me not happy. Freedom to play is something no one can take away. I've been threaten (lol really?) and complained over my decision over what Shard I'd like to join. That is **** in my opinion. Whoever get highest point deserve to get First or Top5. I am kind enough to let go to any people that ask me directly if they want to get the T1 cover because as you know, I do not need any of the covers since my roster is almost maxed...

Basically, someone crossed the line. It made me think and realize that some people may stuck in this "peace" way too deep and don't realize that this is just a game. This game is not made just for friendship or community, it is also based on competition.

My friend asked me "what do you like about this game?". I have a better answer now more than ever.
I love this game not because of the simple 3-match, 4 match, 5 match, fire ! the damn powers! but I love this game because I get to compete with others and to achieve rewards, covers and improve my roster to be better and better.

....Now, What do you like about this game?

....Now, What do you like about this game?
Well KD, since you asked, there's a lot I like about this game! The main attraction for me is that it features my favorite superheroes and I can use them to do glorious battle with others. The overall game concept is simple but the various powers and abilities provide enough depth to keep battles interesting (for the most part). But on a deeper level I've come to learn a lot about myself and others. One of the things I realized after starting this game is that to a certain extent I have a taste for competition. No, I don't have to be number one of an event or season but I do enjoy performing well according to my own measure. I think part of it is that there is very little competition in my daily life. I relish the slapdash rivalries that can be born in PvP when you engage in retaliation wars with players of similar strength and I even enjoy taking on rosters much stronger than mine from time to time (one way to make use of those Deadpool points lol).

With that said, I do also like the social aspect of the game. My alliance mates are the best; we have been through thick and thin and I am glad to have such an amazing and merry crew. I also like being a merc for PvP, it gives me a sense of freedom and it's fun to temporarily work with others and occasionally play kingmaker (pun intended icon_e_wink.gif)for alliances on the border. However, I have a deep respect for the superstructure that SSoLU brings to the game. Without it, points wouldn't be so high and it would be much more difficult to hit all the progression rewards. On the other hand, while snipers are often considered the bane of the PvP, they too play the equally important part of the "bad" guy and help maintain the element of risk that makes PvP and shield hopping fun (Just imagine Star Wars without the Darkside and Empire and ask yourself would that be a movie you would enjoy watching? Although to be fair, I'm never quite sure which side is the Empire and which are the Rebels in this game lol).

Finally due to my overactive imagination I tend to invent scenarios, storylines and rivalries to help entertain myself (I also like to think up new events and game modes). I like to think of PvE as a grand race and PvP as a great war between different tribes and empires. The political machinations of SSoLU is quite fascinating to watch. In my MPQ world, there are heroes and villains, kings and dictators, beautiful ladies, hardened veterans, friendly novices , evil secret organizations, freedom fighters and of course pirates! But I am afraid I have said too much. Suffice to say, it's important for everyone to find their own way to enjoy the game, whether you play the role of the loyal soldier, savvy pirate or go rogue and start sniping former allies, do so all in the name of fun. This is a game after all.

....Now, What do you like about this game?

I enjoy the Marvel theme, I enjoy the abilities, this is my first Puzzle Quest game and I instantly loved the match 3 play to feed abilities to do damage.

The game itself appealed to me, and was fun to a point, but became so much more fun as soon as I joined the alliance I am in. At that point it was a fun game with great people.

When my roster grew, with the help of my alliance, and I was able to enjoy PVP, the game became even more fun as I hit more and more personal goals.

When DDQ was introduced to help my 3* transition, I was super-happy.

I am now on day 506, never having played a mobile game, or any game for that matter, for that long. This game is the sole reason my phones battery is half dead and needs to be charged twice a day.

There are some great people here on this forum that I enjoy reading their comments, be they of the same mindset as me or an opposing mindset that stimulates conversation and reflection.

I do still enjoy this game, and had to take a break partway through, take a season or two slow to ease the burnout, but all in all, it's a really fun game with really fun people.

Great question KDN, thanks for asking it.

It's a pretty fascinating read to see how other vets are motivated to keep playing the game. I've been playing for almost 3 years now, and to be quite honest, it's not the competition, rewards or characters that keep me going; the game actually helps curb my anxiety issues by breaking away from "real life" for a while.

I wonder if anyone else uses the game for therapy. I've been in a few alliances where it seemed like the game caused more anxiety and anger, but surely there has to be others in MPQ land that use the game as a release or distraction.
