Yep. There are much, MUCH more annoying and dangerous 4* combinations...just some of them are from newer characters, so Jeanbuster is one you see since folks are much more likely to have 13 covers in those characters. Certainly no reason to drop ISO into Elektra, Star-Lord, Invisible Woman (long-time players may have those covered since they are older ones)....with how much 4*'s cost to max, can't afford to level any except the top 3-7.

Also, with the introduction of 5*'s, folks can get to the "two good 4* thresh-hold" and just stop maxing new ones. It takes a whole season to champion them, and you're almost always better off dropping that ISO into the higher power ISO-sink.

Oh it gets worse than Jeanbuster. I enjoy fighting Jeanbuster teams now.

Funny, I saw the thread title and thought exactly the same thing. To each his own I suppose.
  • Samesies. I love JeanBuster because I see them so often I KNOW that I can reliably beat them.

I just got my Iceman maxed so I'm running IceBuster and love it. A little faster on offense, and every bit as intimidating on defense IMO.

I'd rather Skip 5* to beat the next JeanBuster Button, thank you very much.

Jeanbuster is an automatic fight for me. I don't care if its only worth 15 points, it is a quick ISO grab unless the third member of that team suddenly makes it dangerous.

I ain't afraid of no Jeanbuster.

I also agree that jeanbuster is a pretty easy team to beat, except for those few times the board screws you over.

I expect that more 4* combo teams will arise at some point.

Also I find red hulk to be incredibly un-scary. He doesn't attack much on his own.

I'll even take on silver surfer at lv 350 and up, as long as his red is only for a few thousand damage. He crumbles quite quickly with high enough attacks!

Rulk is a lot scarier if you have a strong green user (IceBuster for example). Plus he has a lot of HP which can be a little discouraging for high end PvP play. I'd typically fight a JeanBuster over a RulkBuster.

To those saying JeanBuster is all super easy now and are eager to target that enemy team specifically due to the easy win...what teams are you using to grant such overpowering win-tasticness? JeanBuster is everywhere, for a couple reasons, one of which is that it doesn't suck. One errant, random match 5, and you're pretty well screwed in a lot of cases. And those random 5 matches seem to happen more often when Jailbait Jean is around.

So what are you using to simplify JeanBuster battles?

Anything that doesn't make match5's. You have to understand, the people who are saying she's no big deal are choosing between fighting her, or well-covered 5*s. No mystery which is preferable.

Yea, Jean isn't scary. I always avoided her until I got her leveled and started using her myself. She's SLOOOWWWWWW...powerful, but slow. If you avoid match 5s and have anyone with a high damage ability, you'll be fine - just save up some AP and nuke her then go about your business. Hulkbuster is a bit more tricky, a bad board can spell disaster if he gets overdrive going. The damage from those strikes piles up quickly.

I've used FistBuster. It's a little slower of a battle because you really can't safely fire IF's purple until JG is down, but you collect enough red/black to take her out, then double fire purple to get another overdrive, and then between the punch, strike tiles, and attack tile it is usually over pretty quickly.

IF/Cyclops, IF/Cage, IF/BP can all work in 3* land with the same principle - wait until you nuke Jean to fire that first purple (works better if you can doublecast anyway) and then nuke HB and you are nearly done.

I just got Iceman to 270 last week, and there's no question that he's the more powerful green/blue/purple character (assuming neither/both are buffed). The cheap 4-turn stun completely negates the thing that makes her annoying to fight against, plus a better AoE, and a nice finish-the-job single-target attack.

Iceman is what I spent all my HP on the day they announced we wouldn't be able to use it to buy covers anymore. Definitely no regrets.

I have used Fistbuster too to good effect. Even if JG is alive when you cast purple and the stun goes off, normally I can overdrive the moment the stun is over and down Jean, and then the strikes help finish off the rest

I've said this elsewhere, but it's worth repeating.

Iceman is the best standalone 4* in the game. The only thing that makes IMHB "better" is his color scheme. There are a lot of green/purple and even green/blue/purple characters that are really good and can be paired with IMHB. But strong red/black/yellow/purple characters aren't as common to pair with Iceman.

Red black yellow? Nova! And OML in 5* land.
