Possible fix to Daredevil?

So I thought of a possible fix to daredevil that would make him a perfect match for iron fist and cage. Change his purple to a passive ability that converts a random enemy special tile to a basic tile each turn. Can start with strike tiles at one cover and increase up to any special tile (including countdown, locked, web, etc.) at max covered. If it's just one tile per turn, and doesn't do damage, or if the damage is low, I don't see it being a broken ability, especially when you get goons and characters bringing several special tiles to the board each turn. It would be the similar to Falcons blue passive except it wouldn't be contingent on you having x ap of a certain colour. This makes him fit perfectly with the heroes for hire, especially since nobody will use his purple when fists is available. What do you guys think?

It's a totally op ability. Renders falcon absolutely obsolete. Daredevil would be king of pve. Goon nodes become trivial.
  • What Daredevil needs is for his purple to slightly be reduced in ap cost, and to target trap tiles.

This just reads as way too op.

Daredevil is fine. He's not overpowered, and he's not underpowered. He's a decent mid tier champ who circumstantially can be incredibly ap efficient. His pink is also nothing to sneeze at depending on the match up.

Isn't this exactly what Ant-Man's blue power does?
Have you tried playing Ant-Man against Luke Cage and Iron Fist? It's lots of fun, just stealing tile after tile after tile...
It would be completely obnoxious if you could do that for free instead of having to spend AP and then only got a certain number of turns to steal.
    Just saying.

In the OP's defence, he said destroy the tiles, not steal. But it is still too much for free every turn.

Daredevil is a decent mid 3* character, there are far more 3* characters that need a buff compared to him. Yes purple is his worst ability but can still useful. You should be bringing DD to the table for his blue and lesser extent red, purple is a nice 3rd tier ability but someone like Loki or She-Hulk are better for dealing with enemy tiles if that is your main goal.

Targeting trap tiles is a good idea. It also makes thematic sense -- traps tiles can be tricky because you can't see them, but why would Daredevil care about that?

I would ask they just lower the cost of it. 10 ap for a circumstance ability is just to high. It's like you guys just looked at him and said, yeah, 10, 9, 8. Like it was some kind of counting game. If you must do a counting game, then change his purple to 7 reorder it his power block to be purple, red, blue (7, 8, 9.)

It's surprising that there are no skills yet that directly target enemy trap tiles. There are a number that can overwrite them incidentally, but none that say "convert X enemy trap tiles to basic tiles" or "destroy all enemy trap tiles, doing no damage but generating AP" (I love that latter one, you can have it for free).

Agreed. I sometimes try to take Daredevil along to get rid of enemy special tiles but have difficulty getting enough purple for it to be effective. Now pairing him with the reworked IM40 might work... IM's yellow would give 12 blue and 3 purple, enabling you to stun people faster with Daredevil, and use that time to gather more purple (and yellow, to generate more purple).

IMO, the best fix to Daredevil was the accidental bug that sent stunned enemies to the back. It broke nearly everything else but was awesome for Daredevil, especially when you have multiple billy club tiles out. If they could make that stun functionality exist just for Daredevil's billy clubs, that would be great.
