Battery drain
Devs, please try to improve the power consumption of this app. I have a 2 month old S4 and the battery would last really long and playing this game really sucks it dry. This isn't the 3D Mass Effect game so really shouldn't do this. My suspicion is the constant communication over the internet this game does. There has to be a better way. There should be an offline setting which would allow for the local features like the basic campaign, etc or just roster management. Thanks.

Are you sure there is such a constant communication? If I enter a new match or event, I see the game loading, but then when I'm in a match, I can play the whole match in any place, even if there is no data connection at all, as long as I get a data connection after the match. So the game seems to load only when it needs to. Also, it doesn't use such large amounts of data. I have played this game like crazy for months now and the current data statistics is that the game has used up 170 megabyte this month. That may be much compaired to some other games, but compaired to others, 170 megabyte is nothing.
Sure, constant playing will drain your battery, because you have your screen turned on the whole time. Any game will do that. In your case, you have quite a large screen, so you get a much higher drain then people who have smaller screens. Check your settings for the screen light. By default, the setting is either maxed or set on auto adjust. Both these settings drain your battery a lot. Try to use 30-50% light instead (and turn off the auto adjust, becuase it drains more than it saves).
Also, as long as you have a certain amount of free data to use each month, don't use wi-fi when playing this game (unless you feel you must save that data). The small amounts of data sent is nothing you will save time on even if you have wi-fi, and wi-fi is one of the biggest battery drains ever.0 -
I also noticed that this game is a battery drain on my Nexus 70

I will often turn the brightness all the way down. Even when i do that my galaxy S3 reports that MPQ is a power hog.
There are times that my phone gets real hot and it drains the battery real fast when I play MPQ. It happens less often than a couple months ago.0 -

It doesn't drain my phones (I use several) worse than anything else. The main problems are: Screen is too bright (so lower the lighting, okay?) and wi-fi (always drains the phone severely, so just turn it off). After that: No bigger drain than anything else. Sure, having your screen turned on for a long while will drain your phone...but so will anything else that you use for several hours in a row. So let me just post this quote:
"There is no drain..."0 -

I thought wifi used less power. I'll give that a shot. Thanks for the suggestions.0 -

Wi-fi is by far THE biggest battery drain you can ever find in a phone. BY FAR.
So you always have wi-fi activated then? Try disactivating it for a whole day and marvel at how much more battery your phone will have. You will be amazed.0 -
This just in: Android has pretty bad power management.0
