Initialization Failed

When I try to start the game, I get

Initialization Failed
Failed to load system file (error 0). Please try reinstalling Marvel Puzzle Quest.

I googled for the error and found some posts from 2014, but nothing recent.
It's a Google Nexus 10
Android 5.1

It's a fresh install, so shouldn't be an update issue.
