Creature Shuffling (Bug or Bad Design?)

Is anyone else finding the "shuffling" of creature positions annoying? It almost feels like is should be a bug, but it's clearly got structure (Attackers in "last" position, defenders in "first") so I'm guessing its just poor design.

I'm still using quite a few starter cards, one of which is Brawler's Plate, but this card combined with the Attacker and Defender type creatures in my deck often results in me killing MY OWN creatures or in not killing enemy creatures when prior to my card play, they would have. I'm not sure what other cards/combinations result in this behavior, but I feel like once a card is played, it should remain in its position regardless (or we should be able to choose targets perhaps, though clunky).

I wouldn't mind the shuffling if I knew the arcane rules/sort order being followed.

    ...or this, yeah.

I can't tell if this is poor design or a bug, either. It's a cruel surprise when you summon a new creature, it takes the bottom slot, stealing the support buff(s) from your own 12/5 creature, and killing it.

Best I can work out is it's (bottom to top)
    defender < vigilance < attacker < beserker
with the order they're played as a tiebreaker.

Things gaining or losing the above abilities may cause a swap. I've never seen anything inconsistent with this but there may be more to it (particularly more order affecting abilities)
