who to drop and who to grow?

I am trying to improve my roster a bit, trying to make a * to ** transition...hopefully
It is as it follows

In my rewards I have:
Spiderman classic 0/1/0
OWB black power [thought to drop this one and wait for the fifth purple]
IM40 yellow power
Magneto now red power [worth to have a 5 red on him?]

plus 10 coins (2 for ** and 8 for *). My usual squad is IM35, Magneto Now (to feed the blue) and Storm Classico. I know for the *** I still need a lot of covers.
Apart from the general suggestions that are VERY welcome, i was wondering
1. who to pick first between spidey and IM40 with the empty slot
2. should I discard any of my chars to take up the other one? and who should I discard?

Really, all your focus should be on maxing out C.Storm and Magneto. They are woefully underleveled.

Also, you need to focus on getting Ares/Thor covers to make one of them your third wheel in that team.

1. Spider-Man is a powerful healer and stunner when you have enough covers -- though he is in line to be nerfed. Even so, probably still a good long-term prospect.

2. Moonstone isn't a particularly popular character, and you don't have her levelled, so she might be a decent choice to get rid of -- though on that basis, it would have been more lucrative to sell covers as they came in, rather than piling up as many as you have.

Also, I'd say start funnelling your Iso into Original Black Widow -- her healing and AP-stealing are extremely useful, and her bonus damage isn't too shabby either.

OBW, should I wait for the last purple selling the black one or have it 4/5/4 instead of 5/5/3?

IM40 is also a blue feeder, I've been using him and classic storm as my go to chars this pve event, with stormed buffed as she is the fights are pretty easy, IM40 feeds her blues and feeds himself reds, note also that he can be a pretty good tank too

I think oBW is the best 2* far and away. I built her 3/5/5 and I could make a case for 4/5/4, but you definitely want at least 4 black. The extra hit from espionage gets strike tile bonuses, so she becomes a DPS monster when paired with a strike tile generator (Wolverine is awesome, Punisher and Psylocke are also good).

So the thing here is that while OBW is amazing in general, you have a ton of covers for MN mags and C. Storm and not many covers for other people. Something I've realized from playing simulator/the current pve event is that MN mags is pretty damn good if you have a powerful blue ability. His purple basically feeds you 10 blue, and storm is the perfect outlet for that blue, so I think MN Mags + Storm is by far your most powerful team right now. This also covers 4 colors (red,green,blue,purple) with very strong abilities, so you aren't screwed out of the color rainbow either. OBW doesn't fit too well on this team sadly, and you actually don't have any strike tile generators, so I actually don't think shes a good investment for you right now: getting MN Mags / C. Storm leveled up is going to be more important for you at this stage of the game.

Just use all your covers now that respec is in effect. For MN Mags, his red and blue are his best abilities so go with that. OBW is best as 3/5/5, as espionage makes strike tiles a lot better and really comprises most of her effectiveness later on.

I think dropping moonstone is a good call. As mentioned previously once you commit to dropping a character stick to it. Selling covers separately gets you way more ISO. Selling a character who isn't leveled gets you the equivalent of one cover, no matter how many covers have been recruited.

Really, the only reason to keep any 1 star characters for now is the 1 star tournament and there'll probably be 3 other events going on at the same time. As I started getting max lvl 2s and putting ISO into 3 star covers I sold ALL my lvl 1s and didn't look back. I then used the thorverine sell price buff to max out OBW and make patch useful

As soon as you stop using a 1 star on your main roster feel free to sell if you're strapped for cover slots.
