boosted characters

so apparantly there are two types of boosted characters, the weekly and the event, which are then also subdivided into the rarity of the character to decide how much the character is boosted ?
Because unboosted i have a level 105 storm and a level 106 ares, after the weekly boost from storm and the event boost from ares, my storm is 168 (+63 levels) while my ares is only 162 (+56 levels). This is really annoying, because storm is now tanking the green instead of ares.
So why is the weekly boost stronger than the event boost, this doesnt make sense, you would expect it the other way around or them being equally boosted?

Event boost (essential) is a fixed number, 4* +90, 3* +74, 2* +56
