What was your favorite Pve event?

Just picked whatever I could from memory.
Which is your fav and why?

I like the 1's where grinding is rewarded more. Also I like the Pve events with a good mix of easy ISO and a few challenging opponents to create separation amongst agents with different power levels.

The recent simulator was really fun. Not perfect but pretty damn good. The 2 hunts and the 2nd red ISO were all pretty decent also.

  • it's simple for me. PvE that has great progression/ISO opportunities wins. I recall having a great time and earning a ton of stuff with The Hunt - Punisher. Simulator was decent too.

So far this event is not cutting it in terms of earning opportunity. Psylocke is a fun character keeping it somewhat interesting, but it ends there so far.
  • I loved the Hulk.

BTW, you made a mistake. The Hulk is an event on its own, nothing to do with the Hunt. There were 2 hunts. One for Punisher, another for Ares.

I loved Hulk, because Rubberbanding >>>>>>>>> scaling x 1000 times.

And, there are many good rewards for the Hulk, and no bloody **** scaling of 230 enemies to ruin your day. Enemy levels were static constant fixed, which means higher levels player fared better. Just the way I believe it should be.
  • I agree the Hunts were the best but fighting Dark Avengers for the millionth time was definitely annoying
  • why no Thick as Thieves?

anyway I don't remember much of Hulk, I was sure not able to do most missions then. I'm in favour of even beginners being able to see all of the content (if not getting it yet). The Hunt was pretty decent except that I was outraged with the mandatory mHawkeye, IW, Punisher, etc. Each with just one cover to boot. The lvl 33 fully built buffed IM 40 in the mandatory missions in the Simulator is a much better way of showcasing the character you want to promote. The Hunt made me hate mHawkeye (I missed cHawkeye so much) and IW with the passion of 9,000 suns, that's all icon_e_biggrin.gif

Thanks mech. I was trying to remember that specific detail but figured someone would correct me soon.
Poll options reset. We are at max 10 options now so I won't be resetting it anymore.
  • No prob. icon_e_smile.gif

Sigh, I wish I got a chance to do the Red Isos and the previous Heroics at their full glory. At the time of their release, I was a noob with Lv 30 maxxed. Could barely get past the first fight.

I really wouldn't mind if they cycle through their events, recycle a few in fact. Perhaps shorten the event to 5 days, more frequency.

I finished the prologue in its entirety. Every reward every missions. Somewhere towards the end of that I start heroic juggernaut. That was my very 1st event. After that I started into the shield tourney and pvp.
  • No scaling on the hulk. I would play an event for freaking abominatrix if there was no scaling. Any event with scaling just can't compare.
  • Amen to that. Scaling sucks. Period.

Truth be told, when Thick as Theives started, I actually kind of liked it. Reason being the nice free Patch covers given out. I completed my first Patch by the second sub.

Then the worst thing happened. The Thorverine nerf. I went from winning 230s to having my **** handed to me. I couldn't compete any more. (That and not having enough free time to play.) So I gave up on it entirely.

Were it not for the Thorverine nerf, I think I might still have enjoyed TAT.

Anyone else have such an experience with TAT?
  • Which PVE was it that gave out Patch covers like candy? For the top 25/50 or whatever in every sub.

Yes. I was cruising until WHAM!!! My best guy got shot down. It wasn't so much that they were made worse, it's just that it required a little different strategy than I was used to. That learning period screwed me.

I have to agree. If my best guys hadn't got chopped mid way through I probably would have enjoyed it a lot.

I'm torn between The Simulator and TaT.

The Sim had more variety of fights and challenges, but TaT had storyline and fights, especially in the closing episode.

I think I give the edge to the sim because I am tired of fighting the same dark avengers.
  • I chose Hulk and Ares because Hulk was my first I felt I could place ok. It got me my first maxed 2 (wolvie) and a couple hulk covers. I also leveled Cap and MHawkeye because they were boosted and actually was enjoying cap for a while (hey I was still newish and he replaced IM35 for me). It was that event that got me from one stars to two stars with a 3 on the way. Ares I liked because it felt like the devs really wanted to showcase a new character so they shoved him down your throat. People were swimming in Ares covers so the PvP event after where he was buffed was pretty damned fun. Neither had scaling. Both had missions I couldn't complete due to levels of my heroes, BUT I was fine with that because I knew I hadn't reached top tier status.
  • Removing the scaling factor, the best event for interesting gameplay was absolutely the simulator, forcing you to choose teams with different limitations.
The best event as structure, the current Brotherhood, that is effectively the same structure as The Hulk event, improved - again, removing the scaling factor.

The absolute worst so far I played - or tried to, was Oscorp Heroic. Everything was terrible. Bad rewards, in the form of unreachable taunting progression and the same nodes for the whole event, to the scaling, to the laughable roster limitations, to a single boosted hero (DD) that was absolutely useless in 90% of the maps due to having either 3x goons not moving any tile, or the most efficient minesweeper known as Daken. I still have nightmares at times icon_razz.gif
  • Simulator by far despite disliking level scaling. Hulk 2nd. Unstable ISO 3rd for that nostalgia factor RIP c.Storm.

Yeah, that event was sooooo incredibly bad that the entire community should have been given 1000 ISO and a random 3* token.
  • Simulator by far. Not having to fight DA 340923590409 times was awesome. Started playing post hulk so don'tknow about anything before that.

The hunt Ares gets honorable mention cause it jump started my game pretty heavily. Going from only 1*star roster to nearly maxed ares was pretty huge. Farming those 43&¤%/&¤ jump jets got pretty old though...

Also heroic oscorp was ****, think i did maybe 20 missions total. Hero pool that does not work vs gooons + no boosted characters was just horrible.
  • I'm torn between Hulk and Simulator PvE's. Both Hulk events were awesome and my roster progressed greatly from them: I got tons of ISO and few great covers. Especially second Hulk tourney where you could use ISO from first Hulk event to boost your current characters and really strive for those Hulk prize covers. Good times.

But honestly speaking The Simulator is better event because of the variety in team structures. And yet again tons of ISO, of course. Every time I see a PvE event that tries to skimp on ISO, I weep.

The Hulk and The Hunt: Punisher for me.

Hulk for being the most rewarding, but also the pioneer & best implementation of progress bar (one for whole player-base).
The Hunt: Punisher was my first PvE event, but beyond that it also had a good roster and fun (unexpected) Devil Dinosaur finale.

The Simulator would be 3rd pick even though let down by levelling and possessed no story; that pair of 5k ISO rewards on the first day will live on in legend, but also it had a fun eclectic roster & opposition.

Heroic Oscorp sits as the worst ever, with terrible shortage of rewards & missions + terrible shallow roster + shoe-horning of Dare-devil in the face of all logic & player consideration.
