I'm not waiting anything substantial before the end of the month, which would give about 2 weeks after the announced date for a new version. I've been in the software industry, and I know that it's really difficult to keep deadlines. Software is an awfully complicated beast, games are especially touchy software, and MtGPQ, as a first version, has its share of bugs to correct.

If you add the implementation of the missing features suggested by the players, the Quality Assurance time needed to test everything, and the validation by The Google (tm) to put the new version, you can easily slip by two weeks. So don't worry, the game is free, the Devs don't owe us anything.

For now, I'm happy with the game. It:
    - doesn't crash
    - doesn't drain my battery or overheat my phone
    - is sufficiently complex to hold my attention
    - is MtG on my phone, dammit!

    Pretty much why I play.

This game is not free and Google agrees with me; Google no longer lists games that have "In-App Purchases" as free. I spent money on this game assuming that it was a full release. What we got was a game that is clearly still in beta. The devs, or more accurately, the publisher has used some deceptive practices in order to monetize the game before it was ready. If the publisher had stated that the release was in fact a beta release and buyer beware I likely still would have spent money, the difference is I wouldn't have felt conned into doing so.

The game was "launched" Dec 9th, 42 days ago. Since then we've had sparse communication and promises about how great the new content will be. I really, REALLY want this game to be good. I've earned nearly all the Crystal rewards from Story Mode, even some of the ones that are nearly impossible due to bad design. I've played over 700 PvP games in the hopes that I'm earning rewards that will eventually mean something. I've powered through playing a game that I have to force close every 5-10 minutes because it freezes constantly. I've dealt with a large number of gameplay issues and a UI that is both sluggish and poorly designed from a usability standpoint. I complain a lot, probably more than anyone else on the forums - and it's because I want this game to succeed. I keep playing, hoping that they can fix these issues and add a layer of replayability that isn't completely mindless like the current PvP is. I am absolutely willing to spend more money on this game; I WANT to spend money on this game, but only if I can trust the developers to not take my money and run.

42 days and counting is way too long without a single bug fix. We've had a singular patch since launch and all it did was add 8 new cards. I've said it before and I will stick to it; if at the end of this month there is still no update that fixes many of the bugs and adds content that has been suspiciously missing since launch I will uninstall the game and seek a refund. Jan 31st will be 53 days since you launched. If the developers/publishers can't release a single bug fix in 53 days I don't think you can fault me for leaving. I want this game to be good, I want it to be great, but I'm not going to stick around waiting forever.

Edit: Including a screenshot to prove I'm not full of it and have played the game a great deal. This image also embodies what is wrong with the game.
    • Your Rank: 0 - No, my rank is 1, the only people who use a base zero system are programmers who didn't fully test their app.
    • 740 Streaks - No, I have clearly lost 38 times, and they weren't all before I won a single time.
    • Events tab - It would be nice if this had any purpose other than to frustrate me

  • Shrug.

I haven't paid a cent and am enjoying the game.

Sort of stagnating right now because there isn't any content, but I play every day to stay atop the leaderboards.

I'm on day 439 of MPQ. Many people on the forums have been playing over a year more than I have. I have no idea what MPQ looked like on day 53, but when I started it was a great gaming experience. I have no idea what MtGPQ will look like on day 439, but they have the source material to make a fabulous and engaging game that will keep me and an army of MtG enthusiasts coming back every day. They just need to get the content out there.

Essentially I'm saying I'm in it for the long haul. If things are boring right now, I'll just collect my daily rewards and watch for new events and a real PVP system. There are plenty of other things to spend my time on in the meantime.
  • It's not a beta.

    It's an alpha.

When did you ever see a game that flashes up a message saying anything like "Service_Game_EndPvPEncounter"? Was this ever playtested by anyone?

All the same, I also have fun with it for all the annoying bugs.
