I'm sitting on some mana crystals and not wanting to spend them just yet. I feel like they are easy to get at first, but once you've cleared almost everything, they are harder to come by, and the price for them in the store is pretty ridiculous. As soon as I spend them, I'm sure I'll regret it as a bunch of new planeswalkers will be released the next day!

So, I've been thinking about how they plan to grow this game. The game system seems very hard to balance, unlike Marvel PQ. That's because in this game, the opponent can only damage you if they get a creature out, and it's so easy to thwart their plans... especially in PvP, when enemy planeswalkers don't have those sick, overpowered abilities that some story mode opponents have. I find that with only a moderate investment in cards, it's very easy to go on a 100 win streak in PvP (I kind of wish I could make a griefer deck just for the computer AI to pull from).

If they do plan to make the game more difficult, I'm not sure how they'll do it, so here's my guess. Tweaking HP is one option, but I don't think it would make it that much harder because once you establish a lock, you can keep it going almost indefinitely. They could give opponents even harder planeswalkers abilities such as "6 mana, deal 10 damage to enemy planeswalker," so then you'd need a deck that was capable of racing them or that had a lot of lifelink. They could also tweak it so that the opponents get a huge discount on their cards while at the same time doubling or tripling our own mana costs: the only way to get around this would be to require that the player obtain multiples of the same card, with each extra copy reducing the mana cost by one. Also, they could put all the new planeswalkers as mythic pulls inside boosters, so that people would be sent into a booster pack spending spree (and please like halve the cost of crystals so that people might actually find it worth it to put some money in the game).

Pretty sensible. as long as you've got a half decent collection of cards then saving is best.

In the future though i suspect we'll be seeing tweaked rules in events, match-5's dealing damage, drawing two cards a turn but taking damage from a full hand etc. event specific rules.
