No prizes I need to get, so I can just join whenever and go for top 50 in the subs... that's good.
Boosted character list... Not so good at first glance. I suppose it could be interesting to have Hulk smash puny ninjas though. And Bullseye is awesome in survival nodes...0 -

I'm thinking the same. Join late, get some easy sub rewards. Although, pulling in some extra Cap covers might be nice for championing. I do enjoy my 3* Cap0 -
Given the incoming change to the currency, I expected to see some CP in the progression awards.0

And that Champion Cap will be put to good use in the next PVE too. I'm thinking the same strategy for all this too, go for sub rewards and a top 100 finish, don't kill myself for an LT unless it looks relative easy by day 5. Otherwise, take it easy for a week. I've got a JG Purple tomorrow for the daily reward anyway and I should be able to handle the Fury DDQ tomorrow,so there's at least two 4* covers anyway, I can write it off as a good week.
I suspect this week will be, for a lot of people anyway, just mining the ISO to fully champion their maxed 2* and 3* stars anyway.0 -
I'm actually looking forward to this event. I like it, and after the grueling brutality that was the last couple of PVE's (Heroic, and the Venom Bombs before it) this will be a good pace for me. Its actually one of the few PVE's that I've bothered to put the effort into getting the LT from, so Im definitely happy they lowered the progression cost.
The only drawback is other than Hulk the boosted list is not doing me any favors, only cause Im stingy with the iso. Maybe I should finally see what all the fuss is about boosted 3BE and his amazing survival node talents.
I actually expect a resurgence in interest and lots of players for this event, with folks needing ISO and covers more than ever for championing endeavors.0 -

Until you are constantly slashed in the face by Wolverine and Gorgon due to feeding0 -

Why, that's just the job for a boosted Hulk, especially if you have 5 ! In turn the cascades will eat up countdowns and feed green to each of the 4 event characters (Iceman, Groot, CStorm and Astonish Wolv.
Hulk's great for survival nodes, I use him and Thor all the time for Big Enchilada in DDQ (plus 3* Cap). By the time an active opponent cycles in, You've usually got one or two Call the storms ready to clear 'em.
Just be sure to keep an eye on when that AP fills up for them and angle Hulk in front.0 -
how do people play this event?
i thought i could score a bit since i have the 2 star and 3 star essential character. Rocket and groot with 9 covers, so that is nice and he even has that good healing.
However then I noticed half the nodes are survival nodes, so grinding every 8 hours will take much longer. Additionally most of these survival nodes only have 1 reward. So when you clear it for the 2nd time and onwards, you are guaranteed to get 20 ISO.....
So only clear each node once per day to get that event token and completely ignore it for the rest? Normally i try to aim for top50 for the HP so i can get more roster slots. But as soon as you get 51 you no longer get any HP.0 -

Survivial nodes do take longer but they are worth more too in event points, especially in the final subs. I’ve seen some as high as 8000 pts in the past. So they are good for that placement you want. One tactic is the Hulk/3*Thor/3*Cap method I noted above. Cap is especially great If you’ve got 5 in blue and/or red so you can target countdown tiles. (puls the defense tiles left behind help in the long run too.
And here’s some other combos people like:

My go-to team for survival nodes has been KK/BP/She-Hulk. Panther is great for dropping strike tiles and a powerful AoE attack. Heck, survival nodes are long enough that even his blue can be useful. She-Hulk is there for her board shake and blue to steal any special tiles that may come along. Especially useful for those long ninja nodes in Enemy of the State. Try to steal some of those attack tiles from the dying ninjas. Not only will it save you a lot of health over the course of the fight, but killing ninjas with attack tiles doesn't trigger their death ability. So that keeps new tiles from being created. Kamala of course has a great AoE attack, a pretty good green generator, and can heal you a bunch over a long, drawn-out fight

My favorite lately (especially for the current EOTS) is
BP/Vision/IF
In that configuration, vision tanks 4 colors giving the most value to his blue. You have two strong AOE's, two strong Strike tile generators (my IF is 553) a Black accelerator to speed up BP and passive attack tile to benefit from the strike tiles. It's my favorite wave team.
by AXP_isme » Mon Oct 26, 2015 11:52 am
In the recent wave nodes I've enjoyed playing 3* BE, doc ock plus other (I used colossus but anyone with red and yellow would work). I may be a masochist but when this team gets going it's a bit of a monster. Match enemy special tiles for doc to generate attack tiles, use BE purple as a cheap finisher and you spam the board with strikes. After you've downed a few ninjas you're doing 1k+ each turn in match damage and again in attack tile damage and the board fills with special tiles so there are fewer places for CDs to go. It takes a little while to get going and isn't particularly fast or efficient but I'm finding it to be lots of fun. Give it a try, you may end up a convert.
Search the Tip & guides board using “survival “ as a key word, you’ll find more.
Just remember to never let the wave end with your tile match. Use a power to take down the last ninja, so you’ve got the first move in the next wave and can counter whoever just showed up, incase it’s Gorgan or Ast. Wolv about to use all the red AP that’s been built.
Also go after those ninjas with the eye-hiding helmets first (UPDATE: KISHU'S!), before they lay down caltrops and smoke bombs.
UPDATE: Here's another one specifically for that Groot Essential survival node too:

I love Rocket and Groot with LThor and GSBW for survival nodes; once you've got his blue fired off and a bank of colours, opponents just dissappear so fast; lightning strike into call the storm followed by deceptive tactics then a second (sometimes 3rd) call the storm with and extra 1000 points of damage for each is just obscene0 -
Because I apparently don't read the "time left" enough, I accidentally started trying to farm the CP in "S.H.I.E.L.D. Base" with slightly over 24hrs left in the sub. Opps. I'm not sure whether I'm in a very competitive bracket or if a lot of others in my bracket made the same mistake, but three full clears & a partial grind only has me barely in the Top 200, when 4 clears is optimal at the moment--with real life commitments this weekend, I never expected to place well, at least. Oh well, first world problems0

Did the same! In fact, I do that almost everytime they do these 48 hours subs. I got the CP's at least. I'm more upset that there's not a new sub to mine ISO for, than my placement overall.0 -
How are players at 15000 points already. I clear the board every time once pints are back to full value and I am barely over 9000. Anyone have any ideas ?0
-
Will be sitting this one out, and by that I mean I will sweep once for tokens and then I am done. I don't care to grind survival nodes for placement.0

They probably didn't notice it was a 48 hour sub & took their points down way to far.0 -
Is the 2 x CP in the nodes new, or have I just been dumb and missed them before?0

CT1888 wrote:Is the 2 x CP in the nodes new, or have I just been dumb and missed them before?
only for 48 hour subs, which are thankfully rare0 -
So I cleared every prize and waited for points to max. Currently ranked over 200. **** u have 16000 and some players have Over 220000
-
Sygerdazical wrote:So I cleared every prize and waited for points to max. Currently ranked over 200. **** u have 16000 and some players have Over 22000
once a sub has less than 8 hours to go, you can still do roughly 6 more clears to gain maximum points for that sub by grinding nodes down close to zero. the refresh timer will go up 8 hours for each clear but when the sub ends that doesnt matter. the people scoring highest do max full clears and then wait as long as they can (based on how long each clear takes them) before they sub ends and grind every node to 1 by doing these 6 clears. scoring top 2/10/20 in pve is serious work and not for the casual player.
i personally only score in the 50 to 100 range in most events looking only for leg token progression other than for new character releases. many people are top 10 every event.0 -
Yes waited for max points and then clears the last couple hours until I had every prize. No way som one should be able to score 9000 more than my 16000. I submitted question to makers.0
