This game is fundamentally flawed

The way I see it, the fundamental problem with this game is that the board puzzle is way too swingy to be the basis of a strategy match. Any given match is one epic cascade away from complete domination by one player, and given how chaotic that puzzle is, the mana game swamps the rest of the game strategy. It seems you tried to mitigate that problem by raising planeswalker HP to obnoxiously high levels, but that's not a real solution. And I'm afraid there really is no real solution. You've fused a chaotic casual game with a tight strategy dual to create something that is at war with itself. I'd love to see you prove me wrong, but nothing you've done so far gives me much hope.

I mean this is sort of just how puzzle quest works.

I'd say that in this game in particular, you are actually less likely to get completely screwed by a good cascade, because you can set up defenses and board control that will hold regardless of cascades.

You can also lock down the opponent in such a way so that they only have 1 or 0 cards to cast, etc.

Its all up to the deck.
