PvP tie breakers?

So in the last PvP I scored 1082 and came in 11th (best finish ever). I noticed that 10th place also scored 1082. Obviously the rewards are much better for top 10....so how do they determine who gets ranked higher based on a tie?

I believe whoever reaches that point first gets ranked higher. This is regardless of whether you gain points or you lose points to get there.
