Hi all, long time lurker / player , first time poster

As it is my first post I thought I might as well start with a rant ...

I like playing this game on my iPhone because it's fun and Marvel/X-Men heroes are cool and remind me of my childhood
however not everything in this game is fun

What is fun
1. Having lots of heroes and new heroes added to the game regularly
(needs to be more of this , literally like dozens more heroes with unique powers)

2. Having an incentive to keep playing because I get rewarded regularly

3. Feeling like my team is good and I am competitive

What is not fun

1. Busting my **** in PvE matches and having to face increasingly tough enemies (Lvl 230 Dinosaur??) for decreasingly **** points/iso rewards

Why do I struggle to rank in the top 100 for this Simulator event when I have been beating dozens of matches, playing through Hard mode, facing increasingly hard enemies and getting fewer points for doing so? Is there a strategy that I am failing to understand here?
Other people ahead of me have weaker rosters and are thousands of points ahead of me, it is *literally* impossible for me to gain those points because I have to beat impossibly tough opponents to earn small points, so I have to languish in the bottom 150.

2. Having good heroes made weak (e.g. Thor)
Devs have got this SO wrong. Instead of making good/popular heroes weak, make WEAK heroes BETTER.
Nobody uses the **** characters because they are ****. THe solution is to make them USEABLE, not to trash good characters like Thor + Wolverine.

*That* will bring balance to the game.

If so many heroes are **** / weak , then people have no incentive to collect them.
Whereas on the other hand if you make **** heroes better, then people have incentive to collect them all, because they're all good!

Make the **** characters into role players at the very least,
e.g. Bagman, he is not as bad as people say, he is just a role player, useful for a specific purpose (PvE)
Make other characters into role players/ supporting roles then they can be USEFUL and people will want them.
There should be dozens more 1-star characters who are role players/supporting chars
Then people will want to collect them... as I said earlier.

Just make them USEFUL at least!! One star players should still be useful, at this stage I find all of them worthless except for Modern Storm

Another problem, over-nerfing is not a good way to bring balance.
Thor has been turned from awesome to useless. Instead of doing that, they could have just reduced the damager by 20%, increased the AP cost by 2-4 points, you know... that would have been reasonable.
And in turn, make other **** characters better to reduce his awesomeness.

3. Constantly getting the same **** 1-star covers
I have played literally 90+ days consecutively and from my HUNDREDS of cover rewards I have had maybe 4 seperate 3-star covers, that is WACK.
Come on guys, that is NOT fun.

4. Playing an event (e.g. Double Shot) for hours and hours and getting bounced out of the top 10 in the last stages
What incentive is there for me to play an event early? I played the 1st round of double shot from the start and played for hours and hours and struggled to place in the top 10 when finally I did, then I got bounced out back to 50+.
The second round of double shot, I logged in with 18 minutes to go, and ended up in the top 20. ****?!?!?

Overall this game is still fun but it could be funner.

Comments

  • 1- All of this has been said before...last month

2- Dozens more characters? they release more all the time, too many at once will just spoil the game

3- Don't play the tournaments early then, wait for the last few hours if you are having problems

4- Nobody likes seeing the same rants over and over again

5- D3 are doing a brilliant job as of late, cant fault them there

6- Thorverine happened ages ago, its over, finished, no going back, move on

7- You don't have to finish 1st or top 10 all the time, have fun with it instead, and it will get better.

    Agreed, the scaling needs work.

Now you're just exaggerating. Even after the nerfs, Thor is still among the top tier of 2* heroes (OBW/Ares/Thor/Wolvie). When a 2* character is on par with most 3* characters, you can't just buff all the other 2* heroes because then they would be as good as 3* heroes, which means that you would have to buff all the 3* heroes. Instead of buffing all the characters in the game to be more in line with the overpowered ones, why not just nerf the two characters that are clearly too good? Thorverine was bad for the health of the game, and I think the differentiation between 2*s and 3*s is a lot better now.

I personally expect to get a 1* cover from normal tokens, 2* from heroic tokens, and 3* from diabolical tokens and PvP tournament rewards. If you expect otherwise, then you're definitely setting yourself up for disappointment.

The incentive is that you don't have to grind later so that you can focus on maximizing your ranking towards the end of the tournament. You shouldn't expect to stay in the top 10 by just playing the first day of the tournament. Get yourself up to a reasonable point total (400ish), and then wait till the last day before you start grinding, while making sure that you shield at your local maximum if you want to be guaranteed prizes.
