Potentially returning. Need some help though.

I bet these forums are heaven, now.
Mod Edit: Please do not call out players or forum users by name. Thanks.0 -
Because you can coordinate your hops with others in the same slice as yours. Meaning you line up a player while they are hopping, then they shield, then you hop and essentially get free points because they won't lose anything. This will increase the overall scores for everyone (also causing t100 placement awards harder to attain, but makes the 1k and 1.3k progression reward easier to attain). Also, since the person you hopped off of won't lose any points, they won't be mad and come back at your with their whole alliance sniping you left and right.
Oh, same as always basically.
I wouldn't know because I didn't really start playing pvp until last season. I have read on the forums that people were using line to coordinate hops many seasons before. I think the advent of the cooldown timer for shields made coordination hops more necessary. Also, now its not just your alliance in a line group, its the whole family of alliances such as KA family, Xmen family, Villains family, Dormmamu family, etc. On top of that, there are members of each family in other groups chats so now its 2nd and 3rd degree family shield checks. Not sure if it was like that before. Its nice because you get sniped much less, but you do become a time monkey which pve does to you also.0 -
Reading this thread is chillingly scary
Does anyone just open the game and play for fun??
Perhaps that's just me - I'm not having a go at anyone but shield hops, coordinated something, something, alliances demand a starting level of points to join my mind is boggling.
I'm closing in on 300 days of play after reading all this I feel like a total new player
Maybe I should quit0 -

Nah, just words on a screen.PeeOne wrote:Does anyone just open the game and play for fun??
Well, for that and for pure escapism. Yes.PeeOne wrote:Perhaps that's just me - I'm not having a go at anyone but shield hops, coordinated something, something, alliances demand a starting level of points to join my mind is boggling.
Then eschew all of it judiciously!
Nah, why? If your alliance is a good fit, why worry about anyone else's approach that you may find unsuitable? If you need a better fit, PM some posters here, or post over in the Alliance subforum. 20,000+ alliances to choose from....or start your own!
I run 2 alliances, neither of which have any such requirements. And we aren't alone.
Thanks I needed that and you are correct of course
I have started my own alliance - mainly to help out a couple of friends that started playing recently - help give advice to complete nodes etc
Can't help them in PvP though my scaling is off the chart due to my 2 5*s0 -

Making friends on LINE will make the game a lot easier (and fun tbh). People will shield check with you, people will donate to you, in the right rooms people announce hops so you can queue them, in the right rooms people will cupcakes for easy points, truces are a thing (plus all the "Friends of /Alliance/" groups).
Depending on how competitive you want to be, finding the right combination of these things will help your game a lot. Being in those rooms will also help you feel out the new landscape and meta of PvP quicker imo.
Personally, I don't normally visit battle chats, but if I know I don't need placements, I'll head to Shard 3, which I know it's where more of Villians is, so I've joined the BCs before. It's helpful in those cases. Normally, however, Shard 5 is where I hang out because placement is usually pretty easy and I don't really need BCs (though I've been to a few in s5 too).
I mostly avoid these things because they require you to shield check and I honestly can't normally be bothered. Too much time and too much hassle for a phone game.
If you'd like I can help you get contacts to get to the right places, just shoot me a message on LINE.0 -

There is also a Windows desktop client (as well as an "app") that is equally horrible.
It's pretty cool, if not solely for the social aspect it adds to the game. I have a lot of fun just shooting the **** with my Alliancemates in Line during off hours as I do anything else associated with the game.
That being said, there's a metric ton of competitive edges you can earn through it, as well (mentioned a few above).0 -

Try not to make too many new threads, they might get merged or moved to other sections
Haha, if they tidy me up that's no big deal. I won't take it personally, just a mod doing his job.
For the record, I am making an active effort at putting each theead where I believe it goes thiugh.0 -
Mainecoon wrote:Wow op..impressive..2 T50 accounts!! Which teams were those if you don't mind me asking?
Not sure about second account, but Arondite was on Team Ka-Zar, which at the time was tracking top 50 in most events and around 50-60 season. We had a few players who have gone on to top 10-25 teams now since then.
Welcome back Arondite. If you need a place to park, let me know. We've grown since you were here last .0 -

Thanks everyone I will look into it!!
Can I bend this thread a little - cause most of the commenters I see a lot and know as experienced - mind you I'm on day 298 of playing...
People talk about 'slices' and it sort of been explained - it's every time a new group of 1000 players fills and/or starts??
Because for the first time in my 298 days - in the pve I am in a group where I have hardly made an effort and am finishing top 10, top 5 and overall sitting top 3
I haven't even done 3 timed clearances or even the 10pm grind down (you know someone's got feed the kids etc) - is this a fluke or is it possible I've fallen into a noobie group??
Just before this pve clicked over I did get rid of my GJ 5* to try and rebalance scaling
Any thoughts why it's been a breeze
Ps - I'm not complaining!!!0 -
Any thoughts why it's been a breeze
This makes sense the last event I placed top 800 lol0
