Simulator - Leader score puzzle

edited February 2014 in MPQ General Discussion
Hi gang,

I have managed to total almost 5000 points, playing all missions that were within reasonable reach. So I am about 2/3 of the way through the middle level difficulty simulator. I have a level 82 Thor, and a handful of other characters in the low 50s and mid 40s. I was curious to see what kickass line ups the leaders had...and see that the top 3 players have no one above level 30, and their level 30 is a single star character. How on Earth did they earn over 8000 points and defeat opponents in the level 100s range? Is it cheating or a game mechanic that just escapes me?

  • The level of their opponents is different from yours. Personally I don't care about these pve tourneys anymore.
  • All right, thanks. But then placing is very difficult, since it is the only way I can get covers to improve my roster. If the level of opponents you face isn't particularly well scaled to that of your roster, the rankings would end up fairly random. There seems no point replaying levels to squeeze all points, and depleting boosts, when the top 20 is impossible to achieve for some.

    you would be correct.
  • High level characters plow through these missions just fine.

The problem people have in the mid range is that they use their level 100 3* instead of the mega boosted characters in the event and wonder why someone using a level 15 boosted character is blowing them away, because that level 15 boosted character is likely stronger than your level 100 3*. Moonstone, Daken, and Captain America pretty much outperforms any standard 3* in this tournament, and they even boosted Magneto, who is likely the most overpowered character in the game. If you have him at all, use him! His abilities are incredibly powerful even at a low level, since the ability to overwrite any tile is extremely important in PvE battles.

I just used a level 30 Moonstone and Daken with my 100 Spiderman. All I will say is, it's not fair.

Low level Mag is ridiculous in this tourney, I have 0 ISO in Mag and he's as good as any unboosted 3* I have. Low level players could probably ride him to victory over most <100 fights.

My 2 cover Mag is putting in work.

just for some clarification a level 100 3* is a mid-level player? and is there some consensus somewhere as to what is a low mid and Hi level roster/character? not a dig. Ive just been wondering as I had a very different idea of what hi/mid/low was.

Meh, Moonstone isn't that great. I have her at 55 or something and she still does less damage than my 115 Punisher or 85 Ares. I guess Control Shift can be used to good effect in some battles, but it's just so expensive, and it works just as well with or without the boost. Daken is an absolute beast in this event though.

Mid range is always dicey. But if you only have 1 3* at around a hundred then you still aren't swimming with the 3x100 pack, and are probably closer in power to the 3x85 pack.

I have only one character at or over 100, but my breadth of covers means I can compete in this tournament ok because I can use the best abilities for a given match. But if I only had one 3* at 100 and only 15 characters to choose from I'd really be struggling.
