Forget that hulk guy, SPIDEY BLUE!0
-
Any preferred teams for keeping health packs while grinding?
I'm switching between sw/kk/thor and patch/loki/x with dd for hulk.
I can make it easily through, but I'm giving up three to five health packs per set.0 -
I've been using Captain America, Scarlet Witch, and The Hood up against Hulk. He's stunned almost the entire match, and building AP for me when he isn't.0

I've been having no luck at all trying to keep my own Health Pack consumption to a minimum for some reason, especially during the first three subs. Have not been playing any different than usual I think, but I guess it's just one of those days... or three of them in a row. AI cascades where Rags gets 9 green AP in one turn, coupled with Daken so three enemy strike tiles added too... and then Godlike Power suddenly isn't THAT far off anymore, and of course Daken can turn exactly the right tiles turn green after 2-3 turns. Or Ares getting 6 red and 14 yellow AP in another memorable match, which I went on to win with one character left standing on 350 health, so a close call indeed and 3 HP spent afterwards.
I don't know, this just seems to happen more in the last few days than it usually does. And while I'm playing I'll often cry out "Nonsense!" and "How can this be a coincidence!", looking back it might just be an unfortunate couple of fights. Although I'll never understand how the AI using almost random moves which result in cascades can get more AP than a player using his experience how to play the game, but I guess that's just the way the cookie crumbles. Not to complain too much btw, I still got top 50 in all subs with some effort so that's still possible at least, and the fourth sub has not been too bad so far.
I just hope other people have more luck than me in this event so far.
At least the 3v1 Hulk battles were relatively easy using Gamora (5/5/3)/LCap (3/5/5)/IM40 (5/5/2) and +2 Y/R boost, all other harder battles I've been happy to have Gamora at 5 red for some low AP high damage moves, and her green at 5 has helped me a couple of times too.0 -

I've had the same luck, it sounds like. I wasn't even able to finish my third clear on the second sub when I ran out of health packs and characters. I'm out of the Top 100 now and likely going to miss Cho's black given my schedule this week. Such is life...
I think the most ridiculous luck the AI had was on one of the trivial nodes. I was using a well-covered, soft-capped Devil Dino, a 1/1/0 4* Jean and a badly under-covered Rocket & Groot to spare my normal teams the bother against a team of ~L40 dark avengers. At one point, they got a cascade with so many falling criticals that a single blue covered Jean killed their entire team (two of their characters from full health!). I lost Devil Dinosaur in the process and Grocket took a lot of punishment. It was the craziest thing...0 -
This event has a lot of triple Dark Avengers. Triple Dark Avengers = bring Hood.
Only Hood (by himself) can prevent stupid moves like Onslaught, Chemical Reaction, Thunderclap.0 -
I've been getting absolutely smashed by the Juggernaut/Daken combo in Hidden Stash Greenland. Even if I get enough traction to stun one of them, the other one just gets perfect combos every time. Has anyone found a good team to beat this one?0

Don't know what kind of roster you have, but that's a great node for Thor and Kamala Kahn (and either Hood, for the AP steal, or Black Panther, for the AoE trifecta). Obviously deny red and green, but also do what you can to encourage them to collect blue (leaving match-4s for them etc). If you can cast Thor's yellow and KK's purple as soon as he lays the charged tiles down, you've basically won.
If you're still at the 2* level, then Storm, Thor and either OBW or MMN. But that's my answer to practically every "how do I beat this node?" question at that level.
Edit: just realized I was looking at the wrong node. . . you wanted the Daken one, not the Rags one. Same team though. You can even add Rags to your own team to generate the charge tiles (that team combo is one of the few places where he's useful, and they're all boosted this event). Daken will make a ton of strike tiles, but if you save up for the yellow + purple combo, you should have enough green to finish the node off immediately.0 -
hidden stash Greenland - ms marvel essential. took 4 health packs to complete during opening clear. only level 150, 20 ap after first move. fistclops with a useless marvel, but 2 top tier 166s should be able to handle it, right. nope. not when they get 20 ap after move 1 and then after managing through getting jugs down, rags gets feed green. not a shining moment for my squad. repeated for a second try and they still got fist but cyke made it through ok.
edit: ironically, the higher scaled nodes towards the end were not that bad. of course I had 3 usable characters and threw some boosteds at it.0 -

That's funny to find your post here. I was thinking very much the same thing! I had to heal thor/KK/SW after a match with the simple teams. Ridiculous!0 -

My best pairing so far with ms. marvel is to just boost patch/loki with green black, and even purple just to shield up and wear them down. I don't find a good team for ms marvel.0 -
Wow, anyone feel like buying a tiny kitty ant-man movie!? Beating us over the heads with that one, no?0

Think something got mixed up with the quotes, as the quoted text wasn't mine but Zootsax's I think.
Might as well have been mine though, just spent 9 (yes, nine!) health packs to play through all nodes just once... pff... never before have I seen such utter nonsense as this clear. Juggs cascading into 6 red and 11 green, and of course 6 blue to be spent by Daken. Even the trivial nodes did enough damage to keep my squad benched for the coming hours... Assassins CD tiles that just can't be matched or otherwise removed And since the sub ends in about 1.5 hours I guess that's it for me... No top 50, no HP. First time in about a year I think that I'm unable to play because the opponents did so much damage. I'm willing to believe that bad luck can keep up for 3 subs maybe, but 5 in a row? Sheesh... More than a bit annoyed with this.0 -
I noticed the progression rewards have scaled up... You need more points to reach the 3* goal and Legendary token compared to previous Hulk events.
Are there more points available, or is this just the direction the game is going?0 -
This grind seems more boring than other pve's tend to be.0
-
Did anyone else not get proper rewards tonight? I was #1 but got the reward for 3-100

Using the Ghost Rider event as an example too, I think this is the direction they've taken now. Clearly far too many people were getting Legendary Tokens and more people need to grind themselves to death for nothing instead.0 -
Kinda wishing they'd retire this event. Overscaled Dark Avengers are getting really freaking old.
Juggs, Daken, Venom, between them have four abilities priced at 7 AP or less, only yellow is useless to them, and fairly big health pools on Juggs & Venom combined with Daken's healing mean you'll be fighting them long enough to eat several of those cheap abilities before you're through. And of course there's Ares with his cheap green, and Rags with cheap red and blue healing.
I don't need anything out of this anyway, didn't even bother to start it until a couple days ago, and have already slacked way off. It's just not fun.0 -
I don't think I've ever used as many health packs as last night's grind. luckily it didn't take that many tacos. lost track after a while. went for more packs at least 3 times. pvp hop cost 3, but all the rest were for hulk pve. at least I'm in good shape for t20.0
