    I just found it weird that Hood was the major villain the same week he was boosted.
    You could even take your boosted Hood in the top end survival node to fight himself twice.

    Fun times.. amusing oversight.

    That's just how survival modes work. Because all of the opponents are meant to be a "surprise", all characters are eligible, as otherwise you could tell who was coming up by who got locked out. This means that you can have Hood vs. Hood in this PVP, or Wolverine vs. Wolverine in Enemy of the State (where it makes even less sense).

    I think the story was fine for this event, it was just the fact it's been a year since the last PVE episode (as the OP noted) that it feels like a let down. If had been released a month after Enemy of the State, I think it have been better received. The long wait made people build it up in their mind as something more than business as usual).

    While I would have loved some new infernal Goons, this story did a pretty good job of building up context for the ones that did show up in sub 3. If we're going to fight Muscles again, having them make fun of the Frank's dead family first was an excellent way to motivate a beatdown. (And why wasn't Punisher boosted for this event again?)

    On a side but related note, that was a disappointing Mephisto depiction. He looked more like a deadbeat neighbor who got sunburned after passing out drunk on the lawn at 10am than he did a a Lord of Hell.

    Didn't use to be, that was something they (thankfully) changed. Used to be you couldn't bring in a character that was going to show up in a survival node, so you could scroll to the end of your roster and see who'd pop up.
