[Node]Scaling and essentials[Order of Completion]

Someone mentioned, I believe in my experiment thread, that saving essentials for last in a clear can mitigate some of the scaling issues - that completing the essentials will cause scaling to increase in the non-essentials.

Just now, I was working through my third clear of Oscorp sub 2, and I noticed something related to that. I had noticed previously that, yes, scaling on the non-essential nodes increases after completing the essentials. Not all of my nodes had fully refreshed, though, so I was looking at the ones still on a timer to see how many points I might have left in the sub before my final grind.

Just *looking* at the essentials caused my Overwatch scaling to go from 189x3 to 201x3. I know, because I had clicked on Overwatch to complete it, seen that the timer wasn't done yet, and then went to look at the essentials.

So, I guess, in addition to the above (useful) advice not to do essentials until you've completed your clear of non-essentials, don't even *look* at essentials until you're ready to tackle them?

Edit to thread name to differentiate between the other scaling threads

    Must've been Schrodinger's node...
  • Most likely your node had not updated from the previous battle yet. If you saw the node at 1, then go to 2 after the battle, and then go to 3 after checking it and doing no more battles, THEN you'd have an issue. Most likely the was supposed to have raised the first time you checked it, but hadn't synced up yet.

This used to happen before with community scaling though, but it seems to be completely fixed. If it ever turns on again on accident, you'll see a lot of people posting about it.
