1* Venom's 3rd Power

Yeah, I know the rational is that they don't want him to get too powerful for new players just starting out, so this is what I think a good balanced power that would VASTLY improve Venom's use both in the Deadpool Daily as well as Balance of Power.

Symbiote Snatch greenflag.png 19 AP
Venom uses his tendrils to entangle and throw anything in reach at his foe. Transforms 2 random special tiles into web tiles and deals 30 damage per special tile converted.

Level Upgrades:
Level 2: Deals 50 damage per tile converted.
Level 3: Transforms 3 special tiles into web tiles.
Level 4: Deals 75 damage per tile converted.
Level 5: Transforms 5 special tiles into web tiles.

This 1st off gives Venom a chance to actually get off enough web tiles that Devour becomes a real and serious threat. On the flip side since it affects ANY special tile, including friendly tiles, an AI Venom may end up squandering his own goon's countdown tiles when using it. A crafty player may even choose to not bring any special tile generators against Venom (no special tiles means nothing to convert, no damage.) And finally the huge AP cost (rivaled only by an upgraded GSBW's Sniper Rifle, IM-40's Ballistic Salvo, IM-35's Ultra-Freon Beam, & Steve Roger's Sentinel of Liberty) means that the point that the AI is getting this off in the 1st place isn't going to be particularly often and late in the game anyway. Yes, I know that with goon's force feeding him Green he may get that off more than I'm thinking.

But I really think it's about time we get rid of these last few characters that are stifled by only having 2 abilities and no real variation in builds (I know there are those who prefer to keep Venom at 5/4 for the lower AP cost.)

venom would see a lot more use if his purple wouldnt overlap with 1* spideys purple.

I like the ability, but 19 AP.....is asking a bit much. I know it can trigger a devour almost singlehandedly, but start the AP cost lower, and raise it with covers.. yah, 1* covers are easy to get.. unless you are one of the million or so casual players still in the prologue.. THINK OF THE CHILDREN!

Secondly..the name... i believe Venom already uses that name in his 2nd job making adult movies.. so...

I believe that was an intentional design choice by the devs considering how long after Venom existed that 1* Spidey debuted with his superior purple ability.

It's already incredibly easy to Devour the non-goon in the 1* Deadpool Daily node.

I'm not sold on the name either. Or the power levels for that matter. More the concept, giving Venom another way to place web tiles.

I think it's fair to give him such high AP cost as there are already a few powers for as much or more. The other thing to consider is that this is NOT just a way to lay down enough web tiles to gobble someone up. This would do a serious amount of damage in 1* land (or BoP) used properly.

A crafty player would likely use this to take down someone who's taken a small amount of damage already & devour a 2nd opponent at full health!

As far as starting the cover cost lower, I am under the impression that the devs don't like changing AP costs for abilities based on covers anymore. I could be wrong on that, but when was the last new ability that had lower costs based on covers? Next, when was the last time the devs reworked an existing ability to no longer lower AP cost based on covers?

Ah, but that does reveal the flaw in my logic for the AP cost as well. When was the last time they released a power with an AP cost higher than 15?

When I'm going up against 1* scaled up to lv300 in PvE, why would I want them any stronger than they already are?
