managing your queue

i left my queue unattended for nearly two weeks, because i got some good covers i couldnt cover out of chronic hp shortage

that got me a mess of 175 covers.
im playing on mobile (s3 mini), and its ... uncomfortable to scroll and find specific covers you want to finally roster, to say the least.

i didnt post this in the suggestions board, because while i do have suggestions about it, i dont think this will be heard.
but... how do you manage your queues?
i read some of you keep specific covers in there, chars you dont want to roster permanently but temporary for ddqs or essential nodes.
after i saw what two weeks can do to your queue, how dont you lose track of which covers are in there? do you sell unwanted covers one by one? did you ever accidentally sell an important one?

//i would love the cover queue if it sorted by star.png or alphabetical, or if you had an option to do so.

Tokens don't expire, so the best thing to do is to not open them until you have space on your roster to support a new hero. It's one of those things that feels bad in this game, but you'll just be throwing them away unless you save them until you have space.

As for managing the queue, they are sorted by time, but keeping it small by not opening everything is the only real thing you can do.

i agree tryke but I still think sorting options by rarity or alphabetically would help a ton. or a sell all 1*s button.

You could probably get 5 good ideas to improve that screen out of a stranger on the street who's never seen this app before.

But to answer the OP's question, when I'm in the position I was in while Prodigal Sun was the only PVE event visible, I have a stable roster so I just upgrade or add the covers I can use and Sell All handles the rest. Now that The Hunt is up, I know I'll need cStorm for the following event, so I've started retaining her covers. I go in at the end of each play session and sell off all the covers I'm not keeping. One at a time. Several times a day. Every day.

unfortunately my ocd requires me to keep one each of all 7 of the 2* characters i don't have permanently rostered in my queue. I'd love to be able to sell all 1*s during LR times or sell all 3*s when i know i have nothing of value there.

I don't generally jump on and play one or two battles before exiting; I usually make a session out of it, so I often find myself looking at my queue while I decide which battle to do next. Actually, it's pretty rare that I launch the game & play at all without looking at my queue at least once, especially since I have so much anxiety about roster slot shortage. With that in mind, it's easy for me to clear out the one-stars at the top of the list. If I see a 3-star or a long-run of 2-stars that I don't already own, it's usually a safe bet that everything below is "dealt with".

I'm also playing through Steam, so the rewards queue interface probably isn't AS obnoxious to navigate as it is for mobile (still only 3 covers on screen at once, but scroll wheel helps move quickly without "clicking"). I've never accidentally sold a cover I meant to keep (though I've regretted several), but it always brings you back to the top of the list after selling one, so the risk is always there.

My own rewards queue has a couple 3-stars I'm struggling to keep, but I keep the unrostered 2-stars as long as I can in case I magically come into several thousand HP and have room to keep everybody. Realistically I should just sell off all the 2-stars (1: I'll get plenty more/ 2: I'll keep the 3-stars first, which is a bad long-term strategy), but I tend to wait until the last day to make the call.

Really, though, your best bet is probably to go through at least once every day that you play, especially if you're on mobile.

im not a friend of not opening tokens, which i already do with my legendaries, but thats a whole different story.
transitioning 2* -> 3*, so i do open everything else. besides, not opening is just half of the equation - combine hp shortage with a new cover from a progression reward and its the same situation.

its just annoying to sell single covers one by one.
i like the other way: wait until i have the hp for the roster slot, then go through my list and either sell or roster the 3* cover. after every 3* is processed, i click on the "sell all" button.
if i did miss a 3*, there is at least a warning message and i go through the list again.

way less 3* than 1*/2*, so its at least a bit faster

I was doing this for a while, but rotating them got very annoying. They come quickly enough that looking ahead to the rewards of the next event gives me enough time to find at least one cover of the next 2* essential.

It is annoying but I keep doing this so I can always have specific covers for them. For example, if I'm going to have a one cover Cap, I want it to be blue because it is still 100% useful compared to his yellow or red. That way instead of two other characters fighting 3 I'm fighting with 2.1 characters which can save time and healthpack.png
