Season-long time slices?

Obviously what time slice you pick for PvP makes a huge difference for your score - in certain slices it is a struggle to pass 1000 points, in others you can effortly cruise to 1300 thanks to high scores at the 2000+ point level.
The problem is this makes a huge difference for season placement. If you routinely pick the dryer slices you have a huge handicap against the guys in the richer slices.
Would it be possible to lock a player into a certain time slice for an entire season? That way, you know that your placement is relative to the points available in the slice and a low placement is not due to slice discrepancy.
This could even be an optional system where the player can choose to lock themselves in a time slot before entering the first event. If they do not choose to lock, they get sorted in the open season bracket.
