Screen flashing too much

I've been playing this game over a month now. I never play it with lights off but today the flashing that occurs during ability usage and/or destroying tiles mildly disturbed me wanting to look away from the screen when I was using Modern Storm, Iron Man 35 and Original Black Widow. Has anyone experienced something similar? I read before too much flashing can cause seizures with people who are prone to this condition. I don't think I played more than 2 hours in one sitting. I play on PC. Is there a way to prevent this? Maybe there could be a way to turn off flashing through options menu in the future? I don't know.
