The current pve and versus systems are still both pvp since the rewards are competitive for placements, there should be room for one of these to actually be pve instead.

An alternative setup could be as follows for pve events and making them more like a live updating prologue:
    All rewards should be progression-based.
Have a set amount of clears per node per 24 hours that give proper rewards and points towards the event's progression rewards.
Have a set amount of clears per node per 24 hours that give proper rewards and points towards the event's progression rewards. Additional clears should simply provide the base iso reward.

Changes like these would give people the flexibility to play when it suited them rather than on such a strict schedule and would drastically reduce the chances of burnout since you could fit MPQ into your time rather than fitting everything else around MPQ's schedule. This would also return MPQ back to being the pick up and play whenever you have a spare 5 mins kind of game you would expect from the match-3 genre and it is during the prologue.

Such changes to pve could have a positive impact on pvp participation too, people could get their pve clears out of the way early and then they could devote their health pack regen to more pvp instead.
