S.H.I.E.L.D. PVP Rewards

Is there something I am missing, or are the rewards really not appropriate for the levels? I would love to be able to obtain the 2* covers for Thor, but they are around the 1600 mark. Yet when I look at the top bracket, it is around 1500 and they have level 70+ characters. Something must be wrong there, as players need decent 2* covers to progress, and yet those rewards are beyond what even the highest ranked players are at. Is there any point in doing this? I'm only at about 800.

  • The higher level rewards have been out of whack for a long time and are generally unattainable. I think most people just use SHIELD training to grind iso when there's nothing else going on.
  • Unfortunately, it's been that way since Day 1 and there have been multiple requests to change the tournament structure.

There was a small window in time (4 days) where you could purchase shields and that made the upper tier of rewards possible to get. But that's not coming back.

What Linxis said! 1600 is definitely the wrong spot for a Thor cover. Anyone who's able to push through to that level either already has a maxed Thor or doesn't want one. Might as well just be an iso reward.
  • They were attainable for three days, along with 1000 free HP. That got patched right quick, for some reason.
  • Those rewards are ridiculously hard to reach. If I remember accurately, I got to the 2nd Thor cover once, and long after it lost it's usefulness to me. There were Shields available for a short period, but that was short lived. I haven't tried to seriously compete in that venue since before the shields were introduced, but I suspect the situation is relatively the same. There were never enough players available to pull from, so eventually you'd hit a wall where your matches will be worth nothing and people would hit you for 40+ points. There are more players now, which should make it a little easier to obtain, but it's really just a **** way to increase your MMR. I'd focus my energies elsewhere.

    EDIT:
    To answer your question: No.
