Getting Booted Sucks!

Recently like most Alliances may or may not do I was just booted after playing with an Alliance for 3 or more seasons grinding out at least 4k. It was suppose to be casual. Finally i get to a point where My 3* are almost maxed Blamo.. All Well this is just a rant. and I was disappointed.

I shouldn't take it personally but after investing time in grinding in PVP and getting no explanation why you were kicked sucks.

So much for digital friends icon_eek.gificon_lol.gif

Maybe the commander just had someone he wanted to invite, and needed to make room? It's lame either way. On the flip side, you can get yourself a competitive alliance now if you wanted. I love the group I'm with person-wise, but our ability to earn anything better than a standard token is iffy at best. Was finally going to leave for Galactus, but made up my mind too late to get a new group. Probably for the best anyways, I'd feel bad leaving and we got a cover in round 2 (barely) so it all works out.
  • My alliance had to boot some people. We have minimums per PvE and PvP plus require LINE. So be sure to know what your alliance expects. I was in 4 other alliances before my current one. Look for an alliance that matches your goals/abilities in the Alliance topic. (FYI, this thread should go there.)
  • Yes, As a new player you don't realize goals and your match up with an alliance, your just happy to be in a decent alliance. But as a veteran player you do end up realizing these things and yo do know what to ask for later in finding an alliance you fit in with.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't pissed, but this is a game and I did appreciate one of the commanders reaching out to me via PM. I think if you want to be a merc group say it and make it private and not public so random strangers don't setup camp, contribute to the alliance, grind things out and think they have a home.

To lay it out on the table I did Join my teams Galactus event late and was in last for the event, That was the straw per se, but after at least 3 season of grinding 4k according to there rules I thought I would be okay..

Here I go again ranting.. I am done. Hopefully to a better matched alliance for my playing style icon_e_smile.gif

which is another reason why I only boot from S.Q.U.I.D. for inactivity. The crippling guilt that would come from booting an active player just because I wanted to get a friend in there or something would suck.
  • You have to understand when entering an alliance is how to get a job. You will need to fulfill goals. Some require minimal points in pve / pvp or both. You will also have to demand a counterpoint for his efforts. With that neither party gets frustrated if there is a voluntary exit or not.

What you can not accept is this: the commander states that the minimum pve is 60k. However only 5 members of the alliance reached the goal. That means there's something wrong. Or there is a decrease of points for all or you change alliance. So simples. Either occasionally can not reach the goal and this is normal but a large part of the alliance not reaching the goal means that you are doing the work of others.

I don't have a alliance fixed because I do not have time to play all pvp / pve and even if it did not do because the rewards are getting worse. I would like to thank all the alliances which I attended because you gave me the opportunity to develop my roster.
  • One thing that would help commander to team communication are alliance announcements. A dialog should popup so the player must dismiss it. I do hate popups and they should be reduced in the game overall. Leave an (i) info button for those. These alliance announcements should also be able to be seen as clickable stickies in the chat if need to be re-read.

I kicked a few people after Galactus 2.0. They put up less than 1/20th of the points required for the first Hulk. The game is what the devs made it. They've put a lot of progression not behind what you do, but behind what 19 other random people do. That translates to commanders being jerks to people trying to get started. We used to be a lot more newbie friendly, but if we have a vacancy now and someone joining has a sub par roster, they get kicked.

I don't even start thinking about removing members unless they are inactive for more than a week. Don't even care about rosters as long as people are active and contribute to the ultron/galactus events. We are casual though.

Same here. In FF7 our only rules are:
    1) Be active and grow! (Newbies allowed.)
    2) Be respectful to everyone. (Being quiet counts. No requirement to chat.)
    3) Don't go into the dark without a lantern. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

3 seasons is a long time, but:
Often times a player is out for a period, and as a commander the thought is often "lets let someone share the rewards for a little while instead of no one getting them." and they feel like they're helping you out. Then, when the 'owner' of the spot comes back they give it back to them. but 3 seasons of that is a long time.....
This isn't the way our alliance does it. As a group of alliances, we generally 'promote' a player from another alliance, but I have seen some that operate like this.

From my experience, communication is the key.

Even a casual alliance may want to reach some reward (or at least the daily iso reward) for all of its members.

When a player is inactive for a few days or has a low score, being able to communicate with this player will drastically change the outcome.
You can ask him if he plans to resume playing, if he plans to score more in future events or if he coud leave temporarily and come back later (many possibilities). If you have no way to contact a player, this leaves only two choices to the commander: kicking (with no hope of return for the player) or not kicking (with the risk that all the 19 other players aren't rewarded for their efforts)

...and the ingame chat is not really convenient to say the least!
