This is a reference thread for PFF2 alliance members as a reminder of our requirements. I may not follow this thread too closely, but want to have it available when topics come up in igc that really bring out the over-explainer in me. icon_e_wink.gif

For starters, here are our current alliance requirements, but expect them to be adjusted over time.

Alliance Requirements/Minimums:
PVE - PFF2 is a high-performing PVE alliance (T25 or better usually). We require that all members hit max progression in each and every PVE/Story event.
In major events, we ask that everyone goes beyond max progression to ensure that we have secured a minimum of a T100 rank for new character releases, as well as being able complete time-sensitive events like Galactus and Ultron.
In circumstances when a member knows they are not able to meet the requirements, we ask to be notified ahead of time so that we can make other arrangements as necessary. We have a more casual PFF alliance that we can let people jump down to if they need a breather.
PVP - As our PVP game is improving, we are now implementing a 400 point PVP minimum for the upcoming season for all events, and finish with 1K in the Shield Sim. We have always been t250 PVP, but are looking to break into t100, and this is how we’ll start.
For those in vet brackets who would like to coordinate in order to reach 1K or 1300 consistently, we have a system in place and use Line to coordinate. Holla at a sister if you want to join in on the fun (Line ID: wiz_biz)

On the Wiz Tip: PVE Basics

General PVE strategy is to clear all the nodes as soon as you join a bracket, and return every 8 hours when the timers have expired for subsequent clears. If you can’t do a clear when your timers will expire, it may be better to hit the nodes earlier so as not to sit on full points for too long. Within the last 8 hours of a sub, hit the nodes repeatedly without waiting for the timers to refresh in order to maximize points. If you follow these guidelines, you will always get the max progression well ahead of schedule.

In general, waiting for a late bracket to secure better personal placement is fine, as long as there is enough time left in the event to hit the max progression. In new release PVEs, we ask that members don’t wait too long before joining a bracket. While we understand that we need to take care of our personal placement, try not to wait so long that it will limit your ability to contribute points to the alliance score. If our t100 placement is jeopardized in new character release events, we will look for mercs to replace our low scores.

    On the Wiz Tip: 5*s

Since our alliance members have access to so many legendary tokens through the PVEs, we have seen a number of people recruit 5* characters. It is true that there are some PVE scaling impacts if there is a great disparity between the 5* character and the average roster level, but this seems to be a bigger problem for those in 2* territory. From my own personal experience, with a roster of 3*s with the highest levels at 155, there has been no noticeable impact on my own PVE scaling.

It isn’t recommended for someone with a 2* roster to pick up a 5* character. This will immediately push you into vet PVP brackets and makes getting a decent PVP score near impossible. It also has a much more pronounced effect on the PVE scaling. For 2* players, it is likely best to stockpile legendary tokens until you are further into 3* territory.

EDIT/ADDENDUM: A Tale of Two Sisters
MoonBiscuit and I have now both had some pretty different experiences with 5*s. She got her SS and rostered him while her 2* roster was in the 70's, and I mine with 3*s at 155.

Biscuit IMMEDIATELY saw the impacts in PVP, and began seeing scaling creep up in PVE as well. She recently sold him off, and immediately got put back down into the noob brackets in PVP. When the next PVE starts (EoTS), that will be the first story event that will not register a 5* on her roster so we also anticipate the scaling to go back to normal. She gave it the old college try, but in the long run, it's probably not worth it to fight the uphill battle to keep a 5* when you're in 2* territory.

I, on the other hand, haven't seen any PVP impact at all after rostering both SS and OML. Brick and I PVP'd together on my first event with both, and he and I were pulling up the exact same queues. I haven't hit a wall of 270's, other than the standard wall you see after hitting 1K.

I only had SS rostered when the last PVE started, haven't seen any scaling upticks, but EoTS will be my first PVE with 2 5*s rostered; however, just looking at where my 3*s are boosted to against the levels of the 5*s, i don't see how it could make much of a difference since they're almost in line.

So, on the Wiz tip: BE BOLD! And don't be afraid to roster your 5*s once you've got a high level 3* roster!

    On the Wiz Tip: Tacos!

Lots of questions on stockpiling recently - stockpiling is completely optional, but not really recommended until you reach the point of being far along your 3* transition. If you stockpile, take a look at each new vault. If there are no 3* covers you need, or very few covers that are not all that desirable, stockpile your tacos to increase your odds on a better vault. Stockpiled tokens from one vault type (sweet vs. savory) will only be redeemable in the same vault type.

If you are trying to pull a specific cover, do not pull tacos from the inactive vault (i.e. if it’s a sweet week, do not pull any stockpiled savory tacos and vice versa). The stockpiled vault resets with every single pull and the contents change, so you do not have any increased odds for a particular cover. Only redeem tacos from the active vault.

If you have completed your 3* transition, you may want to start hoarding in hopes of pulling the 4* rewards from the vault. Keep in mind, there are 300 items in the vault, so to guarantee you get the 4* rewards you will need to stockpile 300 tokens of that vault type, which will take 600 days (2 tacos/day x 150 days, keeping in mind that every 5 days you will switch to stockpiling the alternate vault type). Of course, odds are you wouldn’t need to use all 300 to pull the 4* rewards, but it still requires a long wait time to collect enough to have a statistically significant chance of pulling them.

All stockpiling is completely optional, this is just some of the basic information to keep in mind. I personally use my tacos in hopes of getting health packs, usually, for rough PVE grinds or a PVP push. If you are hoping for health, make sure that you don’t open the tacos unless you need health packs immediately. Unless I have an urgent need, I try to wait until my health is completely regenerated before I open any tacos, so no packs are wasted.

    On the Wiz Tip: Battlecats!

What began as a typo has now morphed into a t100 season alliance! After a season working together with another PVE alliance in a mini-battle chat, everyone’s scores showed so much improvement that we decided to make a temporary group, PFF BattleCats, for the end of Season XX and ended at #56!

Brick and I would like to continue this for Season XXI – the point is to get as many pff2-ers LTs as possible, rather than us just merc-ing out to the mega-franchises to finish with a t100 group. Our PVP minimums for pff2 are only 400 pts right now, but for those who want to go well above and beyond that, we want you to be able to get as much treasure as possible!

For Season XXI, if you can finish with at least 10k you are guaranteed a spot in BattleCats. T100 competition is stiff, and the point spread tends to be extremely tight the closer to 100 the rank gets. Additionally, we lost the top scorer (15.5K!) to another alliance this season, so our average will need to pick up a bit from the previous season. We will try to take as many pff2 members as we can into BattleCats though, as long as it doesn't put the group at risk of dropping out of T100.

Just wanted to share this with everyone before the next season starts, to give ample opportunity to plan for this if you’re interested! And if you’re not already on Line and would like to join up to start coordinating with us, just let us know.

On The Wiz Tip: New Character PVEs!

With another new character release on the horizon and a number of new members that have not been through a new release PVE with us, just wanted to give everyone the run-down.

Although our normal PVE minimum is the LT at max progression, this will likely not cut it for new releases as we expect our members to aim for 1.5-2x max progression. We also expect members to join brackets as early as they feasibly can - if someone skips 1-2 subs before they even join a bracket, it hurts the overall alliance score. For those who start late, or are not hitting their clears or grinding, we will ask you to swap places with someone from pff3 or bring in mercs if necessary.

We go hard on new releases - for reference, we finished at #7 for X23, and we expect everyone to help carry the load.

If you have known conflicts during the event and will not be able to put up optimal points, a little communication goes a really long way. Please just let us know, and we may be able to work something out. If someone doesn't communicate, it's much more likely they will be dropped.
