Probably.

My Steam account (EddimonPC) won his first shield match today and is currently ranked at 197,920 and is above everyone else who had earned their first 25 points from a single win.

Of course that is only really registrations, and doesn't speak to activity. But it's still a good number.

Or 100,000 players if each of us has an IOS and a Steam account separately.
  • Well it's probably less than the number of registration because I can see a lot of people just think 'pvp must be pretty hard' and just avoid it.
  • Wouldn't surprise me if there are just 2000 who play frequently.

It'd surprise me. There's about 3000 in an average Lightning Round still, aren't there? And that's a 90-minute span mid-week.
  • In some of the new lightning rounds this week, I was able to place just slightly worse than 10,000th place in some of the ones during peak time periods. During the off-time periods, I was still able to place about 6-7,000th in those lightning rounds.

Nevertheless, lightning round activity did significantly pick up this week from when the villains were offered as prizes.
  • According to steam stats, player peak was 1,514 today (PC only). Actually it's loosing ground... used to be 1800ish every day. It's barely in the top100 anymore (#99).
I know the game is more popular on smartphones... still 200k looks like a loooong shot to me.
  • This game is also near the top grossing on iTunes so I'd imagine 200k would be a safe number for users albeit many of those May have moved on.
  • I currently use 3 account myself. 1 is my competive account. 1 is my casual account. Then I created a boredom account to see what kind of changes happen for the beginners. Essentially I created a seed team for anyone in PVP.
