Alliance chat issues

I play on several devices, an ipad air 2, iphone 5s and a galaxy s4. I noticed a lot of the alliance chat never shows up on my ios devices but when I log in on my galaxy they do. My galaxy is my work phone so on the weekends I don't use it. I'll notice alliance chat is quiet then Monday rolls around and I use my galaxy and I see a bunch of chat messages that'd been going on all weekend that never appeared on my ios devices. Anyone have any ideas how to fix that? I use the same account for all 3 sync'd through facebook.

Force close the app on your iOS device (double tab the home button then swipe MPQ up) and then restart the game.

That used to work for me but ever since the weekend not even this workaround does the trick ...
