Powered-Up (Buffed/Boosted) Character Levels

Posting in General Discussion for visibility and to collect responses / data points, but this post should probably get moved to Tips and Guides or Theories and Statistics. I'm trying to see how many levels get added to characters when they're powered up.

For PVE
On the character select screen:
Essential characters have a big sized red gem.
Non-Essential characters have a flashing medium sized orange gem.
New characters have a flashing medium sized pink/purple gem.
In Heroics, the Reinforcements have a different colored gem that I can't recall. I think it is a smaller gem.

I think that the Essentials get a set amount of levels added, while the Non-Essentials get a variable amount of levels added.

Essentials
4* - 90 levels added
3* - 94 levels added
2* - 56 levels added

Examples
4* - 70 goes to 160, 171 goes to 261
3* - 40 goes to 134, 140 goes to 234
2* - 94 goes to 150

Non Essential Examples
4* - 70 goes to 75, 140 goes to 172, 171 goes to 214
3* - 40 goes to 45, 140 goes to 200, 166 goes to 2400
2* - 94 goes to 150

New Character Examples
4* 70 goes to 145

PVE Boost Calc It seems to be pretty accurate, except for Blade in 2nd post and Prof X in 3rd post.
