What does that 30 cost black ability do?
    I assume an insta-kill maybe.

Not only is it an insta-kill but a TEAM insta-kill.

    "Galactus Abilities:

Great Machines: A passive ability that places countdown tiles that cover tiles into Cosmic tiles.
Devourer of Worlds: Galactus cannot be stunned. At the start of the turn converts cosmic tiles into Black AP.
Cosmic Wrath: If Galactus has 30 Black AP at the start of the turn, Galactus deals 1,000,000 damage to the entire opposing team."
-Taken from the D3 Go! Support page

That being said, I would say characters like She-Hulk with ap drains or ap steals (for black for sure) will be essential in later rounds of Galactus.
My team will probably end up being GSBW (for greenflag.png and purpleflag.png ), Scarlet Witch (for blueflag.png passive), and She-Hulk (for redflag.png Cosmic tile clear and greenflag.png black ap drain).
Anyone else have better suggestions? I'm interested to here other people's ideas.

If he only uses black, Hood might be great against him with dormammu's aid.
She-hulk being able to obliterate one of the colors will be good too.
Doctor Octopus might be good since killing any of those tiles might let him set up punches.
Curiosity if Electra can shadow step the damage.
    Other thoughts:

Doctor Doom would maybe let you match away the black tiles before Galactus can eat them.
Invisible Woman might be able to bubble up the tiles, preventing them from going off.
Deadpool might be good for chopping down his health, and memory serving LotP will let him soak an AoE attack, hitting him twice. He might be able to soak the beam for someone.
Kingpin and Nick Fury would be pretty decent, since both have beefy means of stripping away AP.

If you wanna get technical, Star Lord could infinitely stall the ability out with his red permitting that he has enough power to keep it up constantly and it doesn't get converted.
I could probably find more good picks.

Are the CD tiles too heavy for Redwing again?

Punisher redflag.png was a staple against Ultron, will keep the same strategy. Being able to do a one shot kill for 35k is a must

if black is his strongest color, sounds like blade black might help?

I wonder if Colossus could Fastball an opponent out of Galactus' way...
    Elektra oculd be interesting too.

if its aoe damage though, wouldn't that go through all the inviz and shadow steps?

AoE damage would go through Invisibility, but Shadow Step should prevent it.

The way that ability is written, Star Lord wouldn't help. It doesn't sound like spend 30 AP to kill the enemy team, it's "If he has 30 AP, kill enemy team."

Along with that, Elektra would have to dodge it every turn, and the person landing from a Fastball would still get mowed down the turn after landing.

Shadow step may help if Galactus is really low health, you should be losing one each turn until dying, but hitting him as well.

If ability order is any clue, it's not.
    But OBW espionage may help

I'm assuming his match damage will make Luke Cage a must if you bring her which sort of invalidates her whole purpose.

Hood should be an MVP here since the constant black creation will assure that there'll be enough to trigger his steal. I'm curious if he will be able to make matches or will only use his passives and special.

Someone upthread asked about Falcon, and I'm wondering too if cosmic tiles will be subject to Redwing. Or if they'll be affected by abilities like Ant Man's, Doc Ock's, etc...

Anyone know what the essentials will be for this boss fight? I need to start collecting them now instead of selling them icon_razz.gif

The instant-kill ability costs 30 black AP, specifically.

    Support page shows 28 AP now instead of 30. http://d3publisher.helpshift.com/a/marv ... event-info

The way I'm reading it, Hood won't matter. He's not generating black tiles, just black AP.

He creates countdowns, those turn to cosmic tiles, then those are next turn converted into black AP.

So you need someone to deal with countdowns (Falcon, Cap, OBW, etc...), and someone to drain black. Hood will help, but your best bet is She-Hulk. If Galactus doesn't move the board like Ultron didn't, then he should only have black AP.

If he does move the board, it'll be much trickier.

That's how I read it too, he won't create black tiles, just generate Black AP. He will have other AP due to it being the AI and the AI loves cascades, even ones generated from 1 CD tile resolving, or Cosmic Tile disappearing.

I bet that explains why so many characters recently lost the ability to remove CD tiles (Doc Ock, She Hulk, 4hor). As silly as it sounds, I might just bring in Juggernaunt over She Hulk, yes I can deplete the AP but depending on how many CD tiles there are, it might be best to just have Juggs ram into them for a cheap 6AP. I might go with my Goon team of Mohawk, Steve Rogers and OBW.. they have never failed me unless Galactus can move the board. Hmm.. maybe Psylocke's Blue could just steal the Black (assuming it's the strongest color, probably isn't).

    Should be interesting.
