Gift to friends idea! Please read!

I can't explain how many times I've told friends how awesome it would be if you could trade or sell covers of heroes or villains to friends to help them out. My gf has started playing not too long ago and I keep getting covers that she could use but I can't whatsoever due to maxed out characters. Is it possible that this could happen in the future? It would be amazing if so.

  • Trading covers... a much better solution than discarding for the tiny amount of ISO. I also wish we could have an in-game friends list without using FB.
  • By far much better. I have a hard time with villain covers and she tends to get them easier. I keep pulling obw and wolverine** and she never seems to pull them. I think it would be more efficient for everyone. 100 or 125 iso isn't really helpful unless you have multiple covers to sell

  • Lots of negatives based on ppl being horrible and doing things like rwt to sell thier covers. That said, I don't see the harm in being able to specifically gift 1* covers. 2** might be a bit much, but might still be an option. They do have a lot of free stuff given through facebook use if u care enough (I'd have a lot more ISO by now if I used this with facebook for.one) though so I don't think its necessary.

    3*** though? Absolutely should not be able to be traded or gifted as it just asks for rwt to rear its ugly head. It allows cheaters affecting the game economy, which causes the devs to lose money which causes more negatives to be force ruff and dirty down our throats. 2** might even be too much as while to me 500 hp for a 2** cover seems stupid, I am certain they get many many ppl doing so...something those players could get off me for 130 ISO pretty easy (or whatever current market would dictate).

    If this wasn't a f2p and was a purchase the whole game from day one? Then I would love to trade. Might have let me keep friends in it just gifting them useless 2** I always get and trading them that 6th red magneto I didn't need at the time that was going to get munched.into 25 hp when.they would be more than.willing.to give me 500+ hp for it.

    Friends list would be kinda pointless though without a complete game overhaul. A nemesis list would make.more.sense lol

    Originally buying covers cost ISO. Facebook broke the ISO numbers and it was too easy to grind infinitely so they moved it to being hp. That said, at current REAL value (not thier pricing, which has hp at like 1:10 ratio or something ridiculous) it would be closer to 20-30k ISO for a 3*** and 40-60k ISO for a 4****. 8k ISO for a 2** maybe and 2k ISO for a 1*.

    Even that is quite reasonable. I wouldn't mind saving up. If that doesn't give me a huge incentive to play idk what would. Well ok, a carnage as the new character would hint hint;) or antivenom

    Trading cover would lead to:

    Off game selling of covers for money.
    Creation of multiple accounts so you can send all the dailies to one account.
    Bots for the PvE events to gather as many tokens as possible.

    Also currently accounts that are hacking can be sandboxed away before they affect anyone else. If those accounts are trading covers into the community it is difficult to limit their effects to themselves.

    Because covers cannot be moved between accounts they have no trade value and there is no way to make money off them. As soon as that becomes possible all kinds of bad actors appear.

  • What we need is a marketplace where we can auction off our extra covers to the highest bidder. You could sell them for hp or Iso, which ever one you need more at the moment. I actually think this might influence people to make more hp and iso purchases to try and get that final bid in before the auction is over.

    Think about it devs, you know it has potential.

    This is a terrible idea. There would be rampant abuses of smurf accounts and hacking meaning nobody would ever invest a cent to the game.

    Trading covers via in-game matching, limited to 3 covers per month. Direct swap, so no abuse of system. Players don't know who they are swapping with, just that they have a list of covers they don't need, and a list of covers they need.

    How about something like a poker tournament?

    Like the Avenger Elite tournament, but entry fee is a spare 2* or 3* or 4* cover.

    Winner takes both covers.

    Star Wars Force Collection. (Konami's pay to win game. Should have just stuck to Yugioh.) That game has a trade system. But it requires both players to be lv 20 with at least 2 weeks of being friends to each other.

    Too troublesome to make free accounts for trade, and still encourage friends to exchange gifts.

    If you wanted to have it not become a "trade for real money" instead of "gift to friends" make it so you can only gift a cover within 5 minutes of opening it.

    That's enough time to say "Hey, is this the one you needed?" to a friend, but not really enough time to find, friend, and guarantee payment from a purchaser.

    I think this would be awesome, by the by. My husband and I both play and I'd say half the 2** covers I open are for abilities I don't want to level any more, but he wants. It's an awkward situation because it's trash to me and I'm disappointed, but it's still a cover he really wants.

    OR make it so any cover is giftable only to people you had on a friends list BEFORE receiving it.
  • If this were a regular pay up front game like diablo 3 then it might be able to support an auction house. But even diablo 3s auction house is being shut down. Because it is free to play, trading will not ever happen. Devs gotta eat and trading covers does not help them make money. Even if your friends keep playing because they get covers from friends to progress, that does not mean they will spend money, more than likely if they will not spend small amounts to get common/uncommon covers then they won't be spending the much higher costs of 3 stars.

    I agree. If we had a gift to friends idea where we can throw 3-star and 4-star covers at low- to mid-tier players, what incentive do they have to pay money? Look, the vitriol on these boards in regards to a game being a "money grab" is unfounded; if the game fails to make money, the game goes away, regardless of how much people play it.

    Or implement in-game advertising, which would actually be pretty successful but annoying as hell.
