I found myself in a new circumstance today, I logged to 4 failed attacks that netter me 84 points.

Do you get progression rewards if you pass it due to failed attacks made by others on your team?

The team that has scored the most points for me (over 100) is Patch, Magneto, Hulk. I entered a tournament, played a few times, and when I opened it a day later they'd won a bunch of level progressions for me.
  • Yes. Someone lost to Team Level 25 Loki earlier. I really hope they did it on purpose, but maybe Patch just got a nasty cascade on them and it all went horrible. Or they didn't know what Trickery does, or something.
  • This is one of the best innovations for me. It adds a lot in terms of strategy and team choice, while also making losing rating less frustrating (because you know that in theory at least you can also gain). I love it, even if it doesn't happen as much as I'd like.
  • It's not always pleasant. The other day I was trying to get my last Thor cover, and in the last few minutes, someone decided to give me something like 36 points, and bumped me from the 3 Thors rewards to getting a single Hood. There are no other hoods in my neighborhood, so my prize was to get a third of the way to a cover slot for a character I am very far away from even being able to use.

Trust me, in the long-term you made out well there. I don't know how long you've been playing but you will be sick of the sight of Thor covers very soon. I've lost count of the number of Thors I've sold but my Hood remains stuck on 1/2/2. A 3* is ALWAYS preferable to a 2* (maybe even Loki with Patch in the mix now!), after a month or two you'll have pulled every 2* cover enough to build each 2* several times over (or at least it feels like that for me).

Not true: it really depends on his roster. If those 3 thor covers would have given him a near maxed out Thor, it would have been infinitely more useful than that singleton hood cover for the upcoming months as it lets him accelerate into winning more tournaments and more 3* covers, which is worth a lot more than holding a useless 3* cover for months.
  • The Hood is a huge long term project. He has especially low HP for a 3*, which means he's pretty much a sitting duck on defense until at least level 100. Of course in the long run The Hood is better, but you are indeed talking about a very long timeframe to get The Hood working.

Love him but yeah, even at 100: hp = 3118 icon_neutral.gif

I disagree. While an 85 Thor should help the OP place better in upcoming tournaments, the fact that he was on the borderline for a 3* reward already shows he's doing fine with Thor at 77 (of course placing that highly will up his MMR but that's a separate issue). They give out heroic tokens like candy with all the progression awards, the final Thor cover will come from one of those and he'll be 85 any day now. I suppose back when I was finishing off Thor I would have felt the same way, this Hood cover doesn't do jack for me, I need to max Thor! But in hindsight I can see that's a very short-term view, in the long run the Hood is the better reward (just hard to see it that way now).

He's the 3* OBW, and I love my OBW! Looking forward to using a lvl 141 Hood.....someday, reckon I'll be waiting awhile.

Normally any 3 star should be preferable to 3 2* but The Hood is a very long term project so despite his power, it's not certain you'll get any mileage out of The Hood. I've been trying to build The Hood on the side and there's just no way I'm going to suddenly find another 100K iso8 needed to get him to level 100 where he at least has similar HP to a normal 2* so that he doesn't just roll over and die the moment anyone targets him.

That said you do get 50 more HP for finishing top 45 compared to 46 and that in itself adds up over time. Also maxing out Thor doesn't do much unless you got someone in mind to pair him up with (like, GSBW). I guess he can technically combo with himself, but he's not the one man team he was once and you can't expect Call of the Storm to win you too many games by itself.
