I could really use that yellow cover for kingpin, but picking a dry slice in the off-season can make 1k really annoying.

Where are all the heavy hitters going to be for this event? Slice 4 as per usual, or a different slice since the times are 12 hours off for the early-in-the-week events?

Tell that to slice 5 during the last off-season. I scored 1040 to get my first thing yellow cover and finished 3rd. I had to hop from 750 because no one had any points in the slice at all and I could not find any targets worth more than 35 points above 700.

Would really like to avoid that again.

While true, there is often a concentration in one slice even for off season. With a large group focusing on progression vs placement, knowing which the Line guys will be in helps a TON.

yea hard hitters in every slice now that is why i would really love to see them change up how VS is ran instead of doing a pt based system do a PLACE based system

900 pts
850 3rd
800 4th
750 5th
and so on or something like that.. I mean you can rule your PVP bracket and still not take top 500 for season

if im put in nothing but 166 or lower in everyone of my Season PVP why am i grouped into people who have max 4 stars for my season

this season took
3 1st
1 top 5
2 top 10
5 top 50s

ended season like 497th even though never placed out of top 50 PVP wise

Tried hopping from 906 and couldn't get any decent point matches.
3 matches in and dropped to 800.
Doesn't look like I'm gonna get that

I was in slice one, and I think a lot of it had to do with when you were going.
With 36+ hours I climbed to 1000 for the yellow to finish off Mr. Fisk, and then floated back down to the 700s overnight.
I ended up in with 1367. Used a 3 hour shield after a climb to 1225, hopped to 1358 used an 8 hour, got 2 defensive victories and a few bounces after. All of that was within the last 8 hours of the event.

Top 5 in my bracket got to 1300, and I could see down to 10th at 1056. Overall, probably a lot fewer people going for the points as opposed to the Stretch PVP where 1300 barely got top 50 in my bracket.

I ended up joining slice 4 in the end, since that was supposed to be the Xmen's preferred slice.

My first climb (about 24 hours ago) was barren as you would expect with 36+ hours remaining. Climbed up to 600 and was hit down below 500 overnight, which is fairly unusual.

Today, with about 18 hours left I started a second climb and the slice itself was fine (though I had some wickedly bad luck against a couple of switch/profX teams that resulted in two total wipes (but what can you do when their switch's countdown keeps finding the perfect spot, and yours keeps getting matched away, sometimes with ridiculous cascade into match-4s from across the board!?). Once I got past that bad luck, I was able to climb from 600 to 950 nice and easy, on all 55+ point targets. Shielded at 953 cos I was out of healthpacks. Wasn't hit in the next 35 minutes, so I probably could have just popped tokens while sitting unshielded, but better safe then sorry since I want to get to 1k and be done. Now I am just looking for a 50+ point match that I know will be worth the points so I can do one hit and be out.

So for this event, 1k was nice and easy. top 10 stretches from Spiderkev at 1360 to Stephen Smoke at 1130, so scores are definitely a bit lower than they are at similar time-remaining in season events.

Edit: found a nice xmentwo target worth 60+ (imhb/if/switch). So 1k achieved and un shielded. Feel free to hit me without reservation! Double-taps even!

While I am not surprised at all to see another complaint requesting gameplay changes to suit your needs, the greed is kind of shocking. In personal rewards alone, you got 3 4* and 26 3* covers, where your cumulative season score wouldn't even get you a Legendary token in the upcoming season. I'd continue to enjoy my baby brackets for PVP and not try to draw attention to myself for a mere 7 more heroic tokens.

Your requested change would benefit those that get lucky in bracket placement, and complicate the system requiring averaging the placement in each PVP, instead of adding the total scores together.

I don'y want to engage on slidecage's comments or requests. But I do want to ask why wanting more covers or better rewards is "greedy"?

Greed is a clearly negative word, suggesting that wanting more tokens is somehow asking for shortcuts, or access to a something that hasn't been 'earned,' whatever that means.

But the values of absolutely everything in this game are completely arbitrary. 4* covers cost 2500 HP only because someone at demiurge/D3 decided that was the right price. Same with the legendary token prog reward for hulk that basically requires 3 hours of grinding a day for 7 days. There is no morally or objectively correct value for these digital goods.

So why is it morally wrong to advocate changing those values?

I will happily admit that doing everything players ask the devs to do would likely result is much less fun game. It the game were too easy, people would probably lose interest. So I don't really have any interest in the merits of slide's suggestion. But that's a very far cry from such requests being morally inappropriate.

I wouldn't say wanting more covers or better rewards is "greedy", but in this particular situation, I think it is. That is why I listed the rewards/covers that his ranks would have awarded him. Instead of being happy with the numerous covers that he received, he's wanting more, when others that scored higher than him, but didn't place as well, due to bracketing, received far less. I scored almost 150% of what he did in the season, and I got 0 4*s from placement. But you don't see me asking for a system to be changed to benefit my situation.

It would be a different situation, if I wasn't addressing a single instance, but instead talking about things in general. Everything is relative, and by quoting his comment and specifically addressing his comment, I assumed most people would think that I was speaking only about his situation, and not try to apply my statements out of context.
