What matchups are you expecting in the new DDQ node?

Remember that in the current iteration of DPD, you need the reward from the event to win the event. I don't see why this one should be any different.
First off, this thread has gotten way way off base from my OP..lol.
But to respond to this.. with standard DPD, you can have 1 cover of a 3* and just bring in 2 well covered characters along side it, and win easily. Not apples to apples.
a 1 vs 1 battle, as IceIX stated, you will be hard pressed to win at all.0 -
None of those comments say you'll be fighting against a 4* opponent. For that matter, seeing as he said he's used his own roster to beat a number of the fights, you're talking about battles beatable with a 4* who has 5-6 covers or less. That doesn't sound like a "level ouch" legendary character, but could fit a 13-cover, level 150 or so 3*.0

Which is not the worst thing when the prize is 5% (and then 10%) 5* character.
If you've got all the 4*s, it's a means to get to 5*.
If you have a couple good ones, it's a means to periodically get more and maybe a 5*.
If you have nothing but underleveled/undercovered 4*, it's not your time.
That's not much different than 3* DDQ. A 1* or middling 2* roster can't really get the 3*, and there's nothing wrong with that.0 -

Those people will just have to play PvE, and/or PvP progression to earn their token, PvE is probably better for them since it will be a gauranteed win after X amount of battles. Token which is the same from the DDQ token, will have a gaurantee 4* and a chance at a 5*.
When DDQ was released, I didn't have some of the 3*'s that were featured because I sold them, such as Beast since he was useless. So I ended up missing out on all the Beast featured events until I earned him again.
So if you think about it.... a 3* player will be assisted by DDQ to earn more 3*, which will help them in PvP to earn 4*.
Same goes, a 4* player will be assisted by DDQ to earn more 4*, which will help them in PvP to earn 5*.
If you aren't a 4* player, then the new DDQ node probably isn't meant for you yet. I think it is more of a stepping stone to help move you to the next level, not skip from 2* - 4* or 3* - 5*.0 -
this was actually supposed to be a fun little thread about potential 1v1 matchups ... **** happened to it?0

My feeling is that this is supposed to help the 4* transition, and not simply give out 4* covers. In this manner it is similar to the original DDQ idea. The whole point of doing the 3* version was to help those already transitioning, which included me at that point in time (multiple 3* characters at 6-12 covers, a couple of maxed out ones).
At this point, this should help the transition of those such as myself (yay!) that have very vibrant 3* rosters (18 @ 166, most others 10-13 covers), and viable 4* rosters (my max is HB 229 5/4/2, and XF 5/5/3, but I have multiple in the 70-120 range level, with 6+ covers). It is NOT meant to give every lucky newcomer with a single 4* cover a chance to have another freebie. I believe that the idea is to still earn most of the 4* covers, with these ones made to supplement the real effort of those who can reach 1000pts in pvp, but aren't quite at the 1300 point mark.
For reference, see my roster in sig.0 -
But dpq only has you fighting a level 60 opponent in the required node where you can bring bring 2 heavy hitters to do the work. For the actual cover node, you can bring anyone. Therefore, this goes contrary to the spirit of what dpq had been for the 3* transition. If you can't clear the node with 1 cover 4*...then that toon can only be upgraded with token luck or pvp/pve progression/win.0

You're relying on token luck anyway, the prize is a Legendary Token and not a guaranteed cover for the 4* of the week.0

You would need to be able to win so:
Bagwoman vs Goon that doesn't generate AP0 -
IceIX said they were looking for one on ones either thematically or versus the most interesting mechanics, so here are my picks, from most thematic at the left to most mechanic-driven on the right:
Your character vs AI...Fight!
Elektra vs Gorgon, Bullseye, Patch, Hulkbuster
(opponent should make Strike tiles to steal + Big single hits to dodge)
Invisible Woman vs Doctor Doom, Elektra, Ant-Man, Star-Lord, Vision
Star-Lord vs Invisible Woman, Professor X, Ant-Man, Kingpin
(SL purple replaces any tile, so any matchup here should be against someone with few big special tiles - if the devs are real jerks it'll be Star-Lord vs Falcon or Gamora)
Carnage vs Spider-Man, Doctor Octopus, Nick Fury, Squirrel Girl, Vision
Ant-Man vs Carnage, Nick Fury
(PBY special tile stealer vs RGK attack spam / PBY vs PBY)
Professor X vs Magneto, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Loki
(PX vs Loki seems pretty fair to me)
Jean Grey vs Professor X, Cyclops, Magneto
Kingpin vs Elektra, Daredevil, GSBW
Thing vs Reed Richards, Captain Marvel, GThor
(whoever stuns first wins)
Reed Richards vs Thing, Professor X
Sam Wilson Falcon America vs XForce Wolverine, Gamora
(race you to all the Yellow tiles)
XForce Wolverine vs XForce Deadpool, Gorgon
XForce Deadpool vs XForce Wolverine
GThor vs Loki, Man-Thor, Carnage, Hulkbuster
Hulkbuster IM vs Hulk, GThor, Vision, Falcon America
Nick Fury vs Ant-Man
*********
3*s that would be amazingly brutal in the one-on-one because of their matching tile powers:
Vision
Gamora
Patch0 -

This one caught my eye. Carnage VS Doc Oc or SG would be brutal.. SG can get yellow out to negate attack tiles, and her purple would be monstrous if carnage black had gone off enough... BUT, Carnage's cheap red does NOT hurt him.. so red red red red red red.0
