She's right, time to move on to 5*'s!0

Only if they start giving four stars out like candy. I am so sick of four stars now. I don't even care about earning them in events since I know they will never be fully usable without spending significant amounts of real money.0 -
Be careful what you wish for. I don't know about the brackets y'all are in, but in mine, 1,000 is not even good enough for t25 anymore. If they start handing out 4*s as placement rewards, can you even imagine the scores you'll have to achieve to have a shot at one? I'm guessing the bare minimum to get a t25 placement for 2 4* covers will be around 1,700 points.0

Thanks Tanis for that random moment of depression.0

LOL...it actually JUST occurred to me. It certainly is depressing tho0

I don't think it can get THAT much worse. Most people aren't capable of scoring higher, regardless of what the rewards are. Once you get over 1k, you get attacked immediately when you unshield, and most people aren't willing or able to hop hundreds of points from 1k. The people that are willing and able already do it. It would be slightly more competitive, but not super crazy compared to the present.0

The underlying problem is that there's no "new", separate event to draw the 4* crowd away from the PvP events that are the (per the devs) main method of 4* acquisition. If there was a completely separate PvP event -- Let's call it PvQ, because why not? -- that awarded (from the perspective of the intended audience) easy-ish 4*s and less-easy but manageable 5*s (when they come) -- i.e. the current PvP setup plus one star -- then the Hulkbuster-IF-whomever teams would be drawn away from PvP to PvQ, leaving actual 3-4* transition teams much more competitive in PvP, making 4* transition proportionately easier than it is now.
Right now, the placement levels are huge because super-powerful teams have literally nothing else they can do. So even though they arguably don't need a given reward cover, they still have to play because that's all there is. Take the cream off the top, and a 3*-level team becomes much better positioned to hit T50 in an event.0 -

Everyone is taking the advice and playing in the high value slices, so scores are inflated.
I just finished Made Man with 1098 and got 4th place. Only one score was over 1,300.
Thing is, Top 1 is the only thing I needed. My KK has been 3/5/5 for months. If it isn't a purple fist or a 4*, I don't need it. (purple fist covers are my great white buffalo)0 -
t1 in a 500 players bracket will never be an easy task. Nor should be taken as the main objective in an event, until the last phase of it.
There will be always someone willing to spend almost as much as it costs to directly buy the cover, to race other folks for that cover.
It's safer to assume that t1 is out of reach... it may happen that you get it, but it should be really considered a (nice) bonus, more than anything else.
I agree that the 4* inflation is debatable: I'd love to see a pause, and the release of new 3*.0 -
At this point I'd love to see a new 3* or five just to give me a reason to care about tokens again. There are two 3* covers I need: and . Everything else goes straight to the recycle bin. I've got a better chance of pulling a useful 4* cover, and that is not a very large chance either.0

I too am down to just two 3 * I still need, one purple Iron Fist and one Vision red. Then I am done. Might as well just wait for the next Deadpool Daily for those covers in 3 months, or when it is top progression award again.0 -
Therefore, we got teen Jean.0 -

The stength of the strong teams is speed. Thsoe players will STILL need ISO to fund their improvements, so they will STILL run through regular PvP, but instead get even stronger as they are ALSO doing your PvQ idea.

For a new event, I have thought about this:
Survival mode
There would be 3 different nodes of Survival: 3 player team, 6 player team, and 9 player team. You select that many characters and you down as many waves of infinite enemies as possible. Your next team mate would join when one gets downed. You would get rewarded with wave progression as well as points. You only get the points of the last completed wave. And you can exit at the end of each wave in case you can't continue or ran out of time. You would keep progression and standard wave prizes. D3 needs to allow for duplicate character selection in this event -- at least per every 3rd character. So if you choose Hood as 2nd character, you can choose him again for 5th and 8th position.
The enemy level should be based on the average of the heroes' levels you select.
This would be challenging for everyone and the enemies will always be based on your own team.
Each node would have its own 8 hour refresh of max points.0
