Current matchmaking systems are kinda dumb

I've never actually played a game with this weird hybrid of casual pampering + grind before.
With current matchmaking systems optimum play would be to level a strong, minimal roster to about 50 and just SIT THERE, because you can then farm the 1-star lineups and level 20 PvE content for first place finishes in everything you do.

Remind me again why people who've played for a week and haven't spent a single dollar have similar or generally easier times getting first place finishes than people who've played for nearly half a year?

Options
The devs have been testing a new level scaling system for the last two PVE events. Considering how they ended up and that even the devs say they arent working as intended, I doubt it'll be the norm for future events.
