Is MM actually working?

Recently, I have come to the assumption that MM may not be working as intended. In No Holds Barred, I ran a 96 Hulk, 105 punisher, and 42 m. Storm, and played a rather large portion of the event. My concern is that the entire time I got attacked only twice, no shields, and still managed to place in the hood catagories.

This is not a tooting my own horn post, so please don't read it as such. More to the fact that I was highly expecting more attacks than two for the entire tourney. Is anyone else coming across a sudden decrease in attacks against them? I'm curious to see if this is happening an appreciable amount recently.

Your character levels & current boost cost was a good deterrent
  • In no holds barred I was attacked 9 total times, 4 by the same person (thank you Grazzt! Actually I didn't care, was grinding ISO anyway at 3 am).Seemed less than usual, and to top it off I had 2 successful defenses in those 9 attacks. Top 5 finish without shielding. Not the way it usually goes

High level hulks secretly has an aura that reduces the number of incoming attacks by 90%. Seriously, thats why he is one of the best characters right now.

If I was running another 3*, I would agree, except with a 1* in the team, I think that would lessen the view of it being a difficult fight.

Modern storm can be wicked, lots of people ran her in the tourney from what I saw.
  • You might've just had very favorable MMR at the start of the tournament. On your way up were you fighting mostly 3* teams, or 2* teams, or teams with IM35s and Juggenauts? If you had a low MMR at the start the only players who could see you as an opponent would have much lower chars.

My MMR consisted of OBW, Spideys, IM40s, Punishers, and Hulks, mainly. Saw a few c mags in team comps as well.

I dunno, I ran reasonably leveled 3*s and I probably would have skipped your team unless it was the only one I could find worth decent points. Plenty of easier pickings around, and that roster is strong on offense so I know I'm going to take a retaliation at some point.

Definitely not the most scary roster I saw, but hey, you don't have to outrun the zombies, you just have to outrun the next guy.
  • Attacks were less frequent until you cross the 600 barrier at which point you become a choice target for anyone with a respectable roster.

I think the increased cost of boosts and tendency for high level players to shield once they reach the top of the ladder has contributed to fewer attacks over all.

Also concurrent LR's tend to make PVP tourney's a little lighter on activity, (hint: if you need to make a push, wait until one of the LR's are in the last half hour)

High level hulk is definitely a deterrent for non-Spidey opponents (but with Punisher at 5 red covers, even a 141 won't run me off if the battle is 25+ points).
