PVP point system ****?!?
Someone please explain to me the concept behind the point system in PvP?
I am lost as to how I can take a hit for 59 points but can only retaliate for17 then the same person hit me for 47 points and I can only retaliate for 18 then hit yet again for 46 I can we only retaliate 17 then same person yet again for 42 and I can only retaliate 11?
I'm sorry you can call me a whiner or whatever but this seems grossly unfair!
I've been playing over a year and recently this seems to have gotten ridiculously unbalanced.
I personally choose to purchase HP for boost and health packs yes this is my personal choice but to have one person hit me for such a large amount in less than 20 minutes and put me down 22 levels (ranks) alone?!?!
WTH?!?!
ONE person ALONE knock me from 1st to 22nd in under 20 minutes
The balance on the points in retaliation is grossly inadequate

Points given in PvP is based on the points you have compared to the opponent's points. If you have a higher point than your opponent, they can hit you for a higher point but you get a lower point if you hit them, and vice versa.
The points you get for hitting someone with exactly the same point as you is 38, so the rule of thumb is to never hit anytime below that value, because they can retaliate and take more points from you than you gained.
If you are at the number 1 spot in your bracket, you are sitting around with a very juicy score and everyone on your bracket can see you. If you don't shield up, they are going to hit you to hell. So shield up and wait for the attacks to subside, then, if you are still aiming to take number 1, shield hop for no more than 1 or 2 matches at a time to keep your position.0 -
You're saying Don't hit anyone below 38 to avoid the discrepancy. When I started it only offered one in that range, after it was 7/8 rounds before it made higher point ranges available. Thank you for that "tidbit". This is only like 3rd or 4th time since I started playing so I didn't know if there was some sort of change and I missed it or what. I appreciate the info thank you.0

Also, keep in mind that retaliations (red nodes) are free to skip, so if someone hits you for 40+ points and the retaliation is only worth 20-ish points you can skip it with no penalty.0 -
If someone hits you for 40+ points, and the red rataliation node is only worth the teens, skip it. Do not fight it, because even if you win and you feel better personally, you just gave that team a retaliation node where they can now hit you again for higher points because you have a higher score than them. It makes them happy because they are getting a net gain, and you are getting a net loss, until you both reach the same score.
When a low scoring person queue's you up because you are matched based on team strength or whatever the mmr is, they are climbing and you are wasting time, health and points hitting them back. The alternative is to leave that low point retaliation node there and search for fights with the other two and hope that later he'll be worth more points (check what alliance he's in) when he's climbed higher and shielded. If it's a weak team, and he's boosting to win, skip him because he's going to be targeted like crazy and won't be able to hold very many points. He's probably looking for progression not placement, or its his climbing team and not his hopping team.
Some people draw attacks with a weak team, then retaliate with the A-Team when you are a juicier target... except for right now when you get attacked 6 times but only get 1 retaliation node... sigh. It's supposed to get fixed later today or something, based on CS feedback from an alliance mate.0 -
Well, you can't leave low point retaliations for long anymore, because I have noticed that I will be attacked by 10 different people, but only have 4 or 5 retaliation options. Is this how it works now?0

My issue is how lame defensive wins are.
In the recently Earth's Mightiest I was mostly left alone, a couple of people attacked me and I won both times. I got 4 points in the first and 5 in the second.
Yet when I fight someone who was probably the equivilent of them fighting me and I lost, I went down 33 points. Dude probably only gained 4-10 from me.0 -
Defensive win values were significantly lowered when players found a way to exploit them.
At that time, offensive win gains were increased to offset this.0
