Saving DPD tokens

So I've decided to save all my DPD tokens, all the way up to 300 each.

I'm at 52 atm, so early days, and look set to be ready by 16th May next year. Then it's gonna be like Christmas! I figure I shouldn't need to pop them all, just enough to get the 4* rewards I'm after. And then start saving again.

Plus the ISO boost will be amazing.

Can anyone foresee any issues with this?

  • Since DP vaults have been introduced I've had three 4star and 1000hp, if I had of been saving mine I would have missed out. I know I'm having a good run of luck atm.

Well, I lost all of mine at one point and never got them back, so that could be a "foreseeable issue" for you...

I have a 100 tacos in the vault right now. I never hoarded before but the vault mechanics pushes me to.

On one hand it seems like the only logical thing to do (I'm more interested by the 4* than the 3* in it), on the other hand it's probably a stupid thing to do since pretty much nothing lasted more than a few month without alterations. I hope they'll give us a little advance warning if they decide to drastically change or remove the vaults altogether.

Since I've read horror story before about disapearing tacos I started to take screenshot of my vaults every 5 day cycle just in case I ever need to prove anything to get them back.

I'm at 50 each, missed one day I think. I'll be saving them up too. I could take the chance and open them to hopefully get some of the 4*s, but I figure it this way. If I save up 300 a piece, I can open them up until I get the 4* rewards. If I have some left over, just faster time to the next 300!

Good call Lee T, I'll be screenshotting mine straight away!

It'll so be worth the wait and yeah, is the only logical thing to do!

Glad I'm not alone in this. Roll on May 16th!

Did you notice that each time you go to the non-active vault the rewards change? icon_eek.gif

Yeah, it changes every time you use a token, too. I thought it would lock in once you used one token, but nope, it changes every single time. Doesn't that defeat the idea of it being a "vault?" I blew thru about 40 tokens looking for IFs and KKs, but every time I had to go back to the 1 out of 300 odds instead of being closer to 1 out of 260. Slight difference, but made me re-think hoarding tacos and using the non-active ones.

On the topic of hoarding, I think it makes sense to hoard if you're really only hunting for 4*. If you're still in the 2-3* transition, then you potentially miss out on a ton of characters that can help you on your way to maxing 3*s (or at least that's what I told myself as I was using up my stash). I did hold out for a couple of vaults w/ better 3*s. I think that always makes sense.

When I was in the 3* transition I used my DPDQ tokens only when there were covers I needed in the pool. The more covers, the more likely I was to use them. Now that they've gone to the vault system I generally only cash them in when I really, really need health packs. When I hit a sufficiently high number of stored tokens, I imagine I'll use them when the following two criteria are met:

    a) there's either one or two 4* covers I really need, or all three 4*s I need

    b) I can use the health packs.

Once I start opening, I'll probably open them all until I get what I want out of the 4*s, but this hasn't come up yet so we'll see. I right now have 29 Sweet and 26 Savory tokens. Someone stated that with 100 tokens you're statistically likely to do well, I may wait that long if I never get hard pressed for Health Packs.

I'm going to cash in 50 tokens on the next batch, assuming I get any blue Scarlet Witch covers in my vault. She's the last high-priority 3* on my roster, though, so after that...maybe I'll just use 'em for health packs, or maybe I'll save up as many as I can.
