Lessons learned from the independence vault

So it seems from the new round of vaults (heroic juggs and pool party) that demiurge took some lessons from the independence vault.

instead of 50 items, the new vaults have 80 items. And instead of 2 4*s, the vault now has 4 (but no HP or ISO).

Are these the right changes?

It's a small bump up in the 4* odds, but also a larger pool requiring more tokens (and thus more token purchases) to fully exploit.

the daily token deal has also doubled from 50HP to 100HP.

Overall, I think this change is a net negative for us players in that it will require a greater real-money expenditure to get the desirable outcomes (even if some individuals will do slightly better for a lower cost due to luck).

Also, the 300 item taco remain thoroughly mediocre. Still an improvement over the old tokens for vet players looking to build 4*s, but nothing to get excited about, and really only useful if one is willing to stockpile very large numbers of tokens.

What changes do we players think demiurge should make to the vault?

Independence Vault had 50 items, although you could earn 9 tokens (300, 650, 900 pt rewards) x 3 events. Price was 50 HP for daily deal. Only 2 4*, 1k HP, can't remember how many 3* / 2*. I ended up earning all 9 tokens, and bought 18 tokens. Got the 1k HP early on, only got 1 of the 4*. There also was only 3 options to buy, 1x 500 HP (50 HP for Daily deal), 10x 4500 HP (3000 HP for daily deal) and Reset Vault for 1000 HP. Since I got the 1k early on, I didn't mind buying more daily deals because I was playing with house money.

I assume increasing the amount to 80 items was so they could sell 40 pks, without giving away 80% of the vault contents. I think they probably thought that the Independence Vault was too generous. The 50 HP daily deal was probably where they thought it was too generous. I definitely wouldn't buy a token for 100 HP, although the 5% to pull a DP4 really tempts me. My 300 and 650 tokens got me 2 2*.

It would've taken 5 10x (15k HP daily deals) or 4 10x (12k HP daily deals) with the 9 tokens to empty the Independence Vault, although I think after the 2nd or 3rd 10pk, the desirable items would've been pulled. To empty the DP vault, it would take 2 40x (19.6k HP daily deals). From their standpoint, I can see why they'd want to do the latter, but they did make changes to entice buyers by adding 4 of the desired 4*, instead of just random 4*s.

Other than knowing that packs are a big source of revenue, I'm not the demographic that they are looking for, since I'm f2p. I will buy tokens at 50 HP a pop. I do think that if they always had 50 HP tokens, I'd be less inclined to buy them, it would just make me want 25 HP tokens. If I were to buy pks, I'd probably prefer to empty a vault that had 4 of a desired 4* and and 19 3* (the DP vault) than 2 random 4*, 1k HP, however many 3* etc (Independence vault).

At 100HP for the daily deal i'm out, the odds for the 4* are increased sure but there aren't enough 3* i need left to warrant a purchase. Having just splashed out on roster slots i can live with it.
