Roster Advice Part 2
My roster has evolved quite a bit since the last time I asked for advice so it's time for a new thread.
http://mpq.gamependium.com/rosters/mango_sentinel/
I don't have a specific goal in the sense that I wanna be #1 in PVE or #1 in PVP, I'd just like to be formidable in both.
Based on my current lineup, who should I focus on leveling up next and what are some teams I should be running in PVP to hit the 1k mark?
Is the 1k mark even obtainable with my roster?
What 4 stars should I focus on covering/leveling if any?
Thanks

I think you should be able to hit 1k relatively easily. I have hit 1k in 4 of the last 5 PVP's without shields, and we have similar rosters (in my sig if you're curious). Plus your 4*'s are loads better than mine. My strategy is to play to around 600 and chill until about 4 hrs are left in the event, making sure my roster is healed and health packs are full. Then I push to 1k, and then I drop a shield right at the 3 hr mark. That has worked pretty well for me thus far.
As for who you should level, you can't go wrong with Cyke, KK, or Mags.
Recent teams I have used to hit 1k were Doom/Witch/Cyclops - Ragnarok/Cyclops/Kamala - Psylocke/Kamala/Loki (first characters being the featured for their event)
And I don't have any experience with 4*'s so I can't help you out there. Sorry!0 -

Hmm I'll give that strategy a try.
Yeah are the 4 I wanna level next but I'm missing a cover or two for each of them to keep them from being ideal.
Thanks for the advice!0 -

You already have IMHB fully covered, as well as IF, so there's a very strong pairing already. You should easily be able to hit 1K with that duet, but you need to level IMHB a lot more. He's weaker than a 166 3* capped at 190.
You also have DPX and XFW fully covered (although XFW needs a repec to 5/5/3 or 3/5/5). I'd suggest 5/5/3 for XFW so you have a secondary way of destroying CDfW tiles with XFW's green ability. They're a very strong duet too.
I'd suggest those 4*s are the ones to concentrate on for the moment. PX is good, but he's very soft on defence (barring cascades). Bring your 4*s at least to 220 so their match damage is equivalent to your 3*s at 166 (they should be a touch under at that point). I'd personally then level them to at least 250. 270 is optional, there's not a huge difference between 250 and 270, and the cost is fairly prohibitive. The gain in damage output, and more importantly, their health increases will make it much safer for you to shield hop if required, and you'll find that your PvP equilibrium point improves as a consequence too.
Can't really comment on Jean Grey, don't have enough covers of her yet, so haven't figured out her optimal playstyle. 4* Thor needs a respec. Once she's 5/3/5, you could pair her with Prof X, as they make for a pretty reasonable and sustainable climbing team. I'd prioritise getting your XFW covers first, and getting IMHB, DPX, and XFW levelled too.0 -

Thanks for the feedback.
All my 4 stars (except some of Jean) are covered strictly off rewards and token pulls so I have not had a chance to optimize their builds yet.
I actually did end up hitting 1k on that last pvp of the season so I have no doubt I can do it again next time!
Is Xforce Wolverine worth building to the proper spec to actually just buy the last 2 covers I need?
I guess I'll focus my ISO on getting them to 220 before returning back to the 3s that need 166.0 -
You can hit 1k with 3* from your roster no doubt. IF & Cage are pretty good for that even not boosted! But yes think you need to boost your HB and the HB&IF combo it's ready to go, Jean it's great as well. Fear not of leveling Blade, Cyc, Doom, KK & Mags.0

What about X-Force? Is he worth buying the last 2 blacks for to cover and start using or should I just let it happen on its own?0 -

From my point of view it's not worth to spend that much hp, you will get covers for him from the 1k rewards. He is not the game changer that he used to be, good but not that good!0 -
Mango, if I am reading that right, your roster is already a top 1% roster. How did you get all those 4* covers from token pulls without buying packs?
you have two of the best 4*s in the game covered and leveled, plus the best 3*. No need to buy covers for anyone else.
Imhb, jg, and iron fist Should be more than enough for almost any event. With cage or someone else for defense as necessary.
Even at 190, imhb is fine. Around 200 gets you 12-13k health and more than enough damage output without any scaling risk.
You don't seem to need roster advice at all. If you are having trouble hitting 1k/1300, I would try to change tactics.0 -

Sorry for the miscommunication, I bought token packs yes, but never covers specifically until Jean Grey came out. I actually managed to pull 4 before buying any. I'd say 70% of my 4 star pulls came from standard tokens oddly enough.
Well thanks for the vote of confidence haha. I definitely need to farm some ISO so I can level others up.0
