Agreed, as they may not have or be able to use the boosted. Think toughest call in 3 land was Thor/iron fist/hood, or possibly Blade.

I thought that most of the choices were pretty obvious, but there's an interesting mix already.

Still, I think demiurge is going to be giving away a lot of covers from this competition. If we were really smart, we'd all make our guesses exactly the same and have the entire forum tie for 1st place.

Edit: Of course, Prisoner's Dilemma applies, so it wouldn't work but a man can dream.

i made my 4/3* picks based on what i see the most which is a variation of hulkbuster, IF and cyclops, XFW was picked because of the synergy and lets be honest a lot of people want to try and pull off SS into countdown for what.

I think the hardest picks to do for me were what the hell 2* users are frequently using nowadays so I just went with 2 damage dealers of thor and HT.

I think the boosted characters will be used heavily, especially 1/2* land. I remember I loved being able to use a 150 level character before my 3* transition. My toss up was between the boosted lthor, blade, and hood, and I just remember getting a lot more blade and Thor covers before I had a usable hood so hopefully hood's rarity puts blade and Thor ahead. It was hard not picking fist/cage because of their popularity but again I think more people will use boosted characters.

Fun idea though, looking forward to the results!

I just want to say, the forums is a cool place to hang out. And every now and then, they throw in neat contests like this. I don't know why some of the Negative Nancy's were like "omg, spoiler thread dead, never coming back to the forums."

Guess they're missing out on the pool party!

For 4-stars: Hulkbuster is an obvious choice because he is boosted and how good he is. I think the second one will be x-force wolverine because many people have him maxed and his synergy with deadpool. PX and JG are also boosted but I don't think many people have enough covers for them.

For 3-stars: I think it will be boosted Hood and 3Thor. Both really good 3-star chars that I think people prioritize when leveling up their heroes. Iron fist is also good choice because how good he is with hulkbuster but his covers are a bit rare and I don't think he as good if you don't have HB to pair him with.

For 2-stars: Human torch and captain marvel are boosted but I think not many people have them covered so they have to choose more traditional chars like OBW and Ares. I'm bit out of touch of the 2-star land so not really sure how true this will be.

For 1-star: Even more out of touch here but I think boosted Storm is a safe bet. Hawkeye does not really benefit from his boost so I did not chooce him. Instead I think it will be IM35. Veterans think juggernaut is the best 1-star but for newbies he might not be that interesting. "Are you jonking? Wy would I use ability that damages myself?"

Don't forget what may seem popular combinations amongst forum users may not be the most common selection amongst non forum users. Apparently a lot of people level and use their favourite characters a lot and that usually isn't what is efficient/effective. I think Ironman and Storm will rule 1* land, and that Wolvie and Cap will rule 2* land. 3* is a complete guess (personally i like the Hood and Cap combo) and Prof X and Hulkbuster currently rule 4*.

Just my opinions based on absolutely no research whatsoever.

I figure Loki over Hood, many people don't like that Hood tanks some colors when boosted, so they keep him out and use a different AP stealer, and Loki is just a nasty little fella in the background... he's pretty easy to kill unless you get that rare Player cascade you never intended and suddenly there's 8 CD tiles ticking away that you can't match away in 2 turns, and BAM, your AP is gone and the AI is dropping Specials like they are on Blue Light Special. He's also my favorite defense (offense?) against Thing.

I didn't look to see who was boosted before picking, because not everyone has boosted characters and even if boosted, lots of people won't use them if they are under-covered.

1 star, i figure people might try out their Spidey's on the seed teams... I know I might.

well it is kind of early for me and i just fired off some some guesses without thinking too hard about it but now i'm wondering if i even thought it through correctly...assumed the weekly boosts wouldn't count and the contest was for characters powered up specifically for this event? reading through the OP and responses again i can't tell!

I forgot about this.....:

4*:
- he's powered up, and the king of the hill. Only other 4* we should really see en masse will be Charles, but as everyone has seen in Balance of Power, Charles doesn't take a hit too well and will only be used for climbing, if at all.

- Wolverine is popular, and even with his nerf, his popularity hasn't waned all that much. Especially with XPool being powered up, we're going to see alot of logan, as usual. He's also one of the oldest 4* so many many people have him.

3*:

They call it fistbuster for a reason, and Hulkbuster is powered up. Not seeing Iron Fist would be like not seeing Xforce - not gonna happen. I do wonder if the number of iron fists is actually high outside of high level PVP(he hasn't been given out much as a prize), so that does make this bet a bit of a risk.

- Popular, Powerful, and Thirsty. Although Blade is newer, people have come to love him(as shown by the character ranking thread). IMO we'll see more of Blade than Thor because when powered up, he cuts through his enemies like butter.

Other possible options: 3*:thor: - I think choosing 3* thor is a good option because of how old he is and the fact he's powered up...but, really, I barely play 3*Thor anymore. The meta has shifted away from him due to health increases(meaning his damage is "less" and he didn't get a health buff). He's also very popular. I think we'll see The Hood , but he's so squishy, any team fielding him is liable to get deaded. Hood might be on shield hop teams, but he's a liability anywhere else, unless someone's got a Tricked out Xpool or something.

2*: 2* Land its hard to say....Went with b/c 2*torch isn't really all that impressive. Carol is okay, but I don't know how many players even invested in her.

1*: 1*land is probably all over the place, and is further complicated by the fact that there's not much space for 1* players in PVP in the first place. I banked on for popularity and new-ness, and for being the first hero you get. Juggernaut is obviously a good option, but by time you realize Juggs is any good, you're probably not a 1* player.

For 1*/2*, I just picked the boosted. I've never seen 1*/2* outside of seeders. Wait, do seeders count? ****.
For the 3*/4*, I picked based on what I've actually comes across in the game. I have seen less 4* Wolverine than I'd expect.

My completely unscientific wild-guesses/picks are sort of halfway between what my serious account encountered and what my joke 2* account encountered. Surprising range of different characters being used this event actually, more than what I usually see. Perhaps because dpx tanks for obw and has a great purple, but i've seen very few obws comparatively.
