So is the game done with new story content?

Does anybody know if the devs have stated that there won't be any new story content going forward, or are we just supposed to read the writing on the wall? Unless I'm mistaken, the last new story content was Meet R&G and Enemy of the State, and they were almost a year ago. Bummer, in any case, because I used to love getting new story content.

I am pretty sure in one of the recent Q&As they said they were going to put out a new story at some point. They mentioned how originally they were tied to the Dark Reign story, and going forward were thinking of other things. They mentioned Spider-Man specifically I think.

In the last video, devs said they "want to do more story content" - they want to do a lot of things if you listen to the video.
But, there was no tease or other info about any story content that is imminent.

I have no knowledge of this, but I feel like they must be working on a Spider-Man story based on what's been released recently. But who knows when that might come out....

Thank you. Didn't they drop the Dark Reign moniker like a year ago? Must be one hell of a story they're cooking up.

As stated above, the devs did not give us any insight of a new PVE story coming, however they did ask us what stories we would like see. I created a poll after I watched the video, feel free to vote and bump it up: viewtopic.php?style=1&f=7&t=31634

Part of me hopes it's done.

The way this game delivers its story is not engaging in my opinion. It's the least interesting part of the game and always has been for me from day 1.

I'd MUCH rather they work on quality of life changes, new characters, new features and new events before they go back to working on story.

At best implementing a great story told in a completely new and engaging way would cause me to log in daily to see what's new. That's great and all but the game already offers plenty of incentive to do this with daily resupply, DDQ, and of course the events.

I'm all for new events, if they have a story or not I don't care, I want new events with new nodes featuring different teams.

They can be themed without having a backstory.

    New events please!

I agree with babrino. I can't remember the last time I read through the dialogue before a fight. For a game with such repetitive mechanics, story content doesn't hold much weight. I'd rather see new puzzles (Ultron) and ways to win rewards than new dialogue in front of the same old dark avengers.
  • The idea is that with new stories, you can get away from fighting off the Dark Avengers.

I still need to write up MPQ: Maximum Carnage, as an example of how that might work, but Im honestly not good at theoretical node construction.

I actually enjoy the stories - I'm not going to argue that they're amazing pieces of literature, but I do hope we get more moving forward. I still think that each new character should be introduced in their own story - it would make each character introduction more meaningful, and make it seem like they cared about a character and their impact in the game world. It would be great if we got one new character a season, with a respective new story, but I bet that wouldn't bring home the banana skins like the current system, unfortunately.

I personally really enjoy the stories, except Meet Rocket & Groot which I thought was terrible.

The biggest problem is that the story events are so competitive that you don't actually have time to read the stories in order to stay in the top. You also can't really just replay the node after a clear because it screws up your refresh timer, losing out on much needed points.

I'd really like Demiurge to add 100% progression reward stories. You can take your time and really appreciate the work that went into the event as opposed to "I need to do my clear in under 30 minutes or else I'll fall behind."

No, we are not done with new story content. I don't have an announcement for when more is coming, but we definitely want to dish up more in the future.

What? That story to me was cool. Have you seen Guardians of the Galaxy? That's the story that actually got me really hooked and started to become a dedicated player. I have two 3/5/5 builds of Rocket and Groot. Although now I have 10 better characters. I didn't realize how slow Groot is at the time. So I only need one Groot most of the time. But a doppelganger comes in real handy during boost events. I'm building other doppelgangers now.
  • Since it's coming up relatively soon, a Halloween storyline would rule. Release Ghost Rider finally! Or even Green Goblin or Dr. Strange.

I actually loved the movie. I just had a hard time getting into the groan-worthy quest for pizza and every node was goon, Mystique, Doom, Hood. Every other story event has been far more interesting than Meet Rocket & Groot. Again, just my opinion.
