Another A/B token vault test or undocumented correction?

For the last... quite a few DDQs before I have opened a token for the vault, I've been able to close the game, reopen and there has been a fresh vault of covers and I've settled with a vault of content that has been less bad than the ones before it.

Just tried it again now (4 times) and for the first time, it hasn't reset itself and I have exactly the same set of covers as before.

Anyone else?

Another test or a "bug" correction?

This "function" disappearing has been noticed by some people already. It doesn't work on my iPad since quite some times now for exemple. I suppose it was unintended and they're working on making it disappear on all devices. My vote goes for "bug correction".

Unfortunately it is still rotating with stockpiled tokens, you don't even have to close and reopen the app just change screens to make it rotate.

Previously, you could rotate until you either opened *any* token, or posted in alliance chat, and then it was locked.

But it looks like they *just* fixed it in the most recent patch. In the last sweet vault, I could rotate for free. In the heroic vault, I could rotate for free. In this morning's savory vault, I could not.

While this is technically true, it also rotates when you use one of those stockpiled tokens, thus making the "vault" concept completely useless. I start with a new vault EVERY time I use one of the stockpiled - if I wait until that is the "active" vault, however, it works as normal.

And there's an actual bug that they should actually be fixing. Instead they shot themselves in the foot. When I could rotate the covers to guarantee that 2/3rds of the 4* covers were needed, I would be far more likely to buy in to the vault to get those covers.

Instead of getting a Red Hulkbuster cover (finally), my current vault has the 11th copy of a Blue Hulkbuster cover in it. Needless to say, I tried to reset the vault by restarting the app, but the vault would not change.

To be honest, the devs would make a lot more money by making the initial vault reset free or some paltry sum like 100 ISO or 25 HP. Then they can make the vault reset go up... though 1,000 HP for a vault reset is probably not making them a lot of money. They should look at their metrics and decide whether they have set this price correctly.

THIS is a great point and a very cool idea. It would be a similar concept to the "reset" for PVP nodes. One reset free, the next few 25hp, 50hp, 100hp, 200hp and so on. Then the vault resets again the next event or week. This could solve the "thousand resets" problem that IceX referred to (also a very valid point, imo), while at the same time allowing for some player control over the situation.

I hate to bring up finances, but it may even increase hp spending/revenue, as players are much more likely to spend 25, 50 and 100 iso (175 in total) to reset the vault, than 1000hp (who does this anyways? has anyone?)
  • Stockpiled vault wasn't meant to be "abusable" so reseting makes sense. If you want something specific go for the active vault or stockpile more tokens and better luck next time.

No one is talking about abusing the stockpile - I was referring to what appears to be a bug however.

Personally, I'm the "stockpile to 300" type to absolutely guarantee those 4* covers I want. I am simply waiting it out. Others, however, want earlier access.

The inactive vault tokens either need to be made truly inactive, or the inactive vault needs to actually behave like a vault.

Currently, if you had 300 stockpiled tokens and decided to open them all to "empty" the inactive vault, you would not clean out an inactive vault, instead you would just get 300 pulls at 300 different vaults, which is totally a bug.

Only time I've ever hit that button was the one time that I decided to go full whale and bought all 300 covers from the vault. It turns out that upon emptying the vault, the vault reset is free.

Wow. I would have never guessed anyone would buy that much. While I have certainly spent some cash on this game (mostly for xf covers a couple of months before the nerf), I can't see how people spend the equivalent of an xbox/ps4 on a mobile game (any mobile game, really).

I have been playing for at least 588 days (judging from my resupply) and never spend any real money on that game. Yes it makes everything harder and gathering HP is painfully slow so I always lack roster space, but I see no sense in paying for this game, where current meta and whatever you buy, becomes obsolete at frightning pace. 4* where once Legendary. No they are "rare" for casual players and common for higher PvP tiers. They kind of lost their allure since they became a must to stay in game.

4*s really aren't that much stronger than max boosted 3*s. Thankfully.
